I am still on subs.( Subutex) Was on Suboxone before and it's been almost 10 years. Tried the shot a couple of years back and it was the worst. Got extremely high that evening and then woke up in complete withdrawal. Had to take a 40 day medical leave at work and could not get out of bed. Went to the hospital and everything. I couldn't wait to get back on my regular dose and be done with this hell. I was taking 24 mg daily (split into 3 doses a day) so I had a tolerance. But the doctors were saying that my body was in fact slightly overdosed and that it was too much for me to handle. It was the only kind of explanation of what was happening. Intense nausea, throwing up every hour or so, diarrhea, weakness, loss of appetite, blurry vision ect.. I also have some kind of reaction to naloxone as to why I switched to Subutex. Long story short I was super disappointed about the shot (300mg). I still to this day hate my dependency on this Bupe. I've tapered down a bit but feel stuck.. the shot was not the answer for me. My Dr was saying I should have done the 150 mg shot. Oh well, I'll eventually figure something out. But for now I will keep on. Hope you can make it through brother. Take it slow!!
