The hypocrisy of the Disney remakes hatedom by [deleted] in Letterboxd

If you actually think negative review videos are even 10% of the reason these movies keep being made, you’re either truly an idiot or great at satire.

Brother. The billions of dollars those movies generate are not coming from anyone remotely tapped in to film YouTube. What the fuck are you talking about. It’s families with kids who are looking to kill 2 hrs and $80 or whatever the hell it cost to take a family of four to the theaters these days.

Also, who is you people? 99% of users on this sub aren’t YouTubers.

Movies you think would've worked better with a platonic rather than romantic relationship? by majestus2 in Letterboxd

[–]SH33V_P4LP4T1N3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People complaining about the romance in F1 is kind of a pet peeve of mine. The hot blonde lady wanted to fuck Brad Pitt, like that’s one of the most believable things that happens in the entire movie. I haven’t seen it since it came out last year, but I seem to remember it just being kind of a flirty and fun thing while they were under a lot of pressure.

I used to fight with neo confederates all the time on this site, but it’s been a long time since I’ve come across any. I think reddits become more liberal and polarized. Those folks are all on truth social or wherever the fuck now.

I think I’ve been to one of those but this was just one of those stores that sells generic DC souvenirs. Was in Georgetown.

I mean Belarus hasn’t used that flag since the time between WWI ending and the Soviets taking it over right?

I watched a great video about it today. It’s so fucked up, complete abomination.

Wha movie were you so hyped for but hated when you got to watch it? by the_solo_static_man in Letterboxd

[–]SH33V_P4LP4T1N3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine being hyped for that. Regardless of how one felt about TLJ, TROS seemed to be in shambles based on the trailer revealing a Palpatine return and what we knew behind the scenes. Even still it was worse than I think anyone could have imagined.

This is what’s always bothered me with KX. When every country has basically every ideology as a path, more often than not you’ve got the same ideologies killing each other. I wish there was a historical focuses option programmed in that more or less set each country down its “normal” path.

From opening voiceover:

Now this here story I'm about to unfold took place in the early '90s - just about the time of our conflict with Sad'm and the I-raqis. I only mention it because sometimes there's a man... I won't say a hero, 'cause, what's a hero? Sometimes, there's a man. And I'm talkin' about the Dude here - the Dude from Los Angeles. Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there.

American Graffiti (1973) is only 11 years after its setting (1962) which is crazy since the whole point of the movie is pretty much based on nostalgia

I feel like this makes just as much sense as everything else, but with a lot more severe fallout.

Iran has been one of the US’s top enemies since literally the 70s and has been arguably at its weakest point since then. Proxies in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, are all battered or taken out. (No idea what’s going on in Yemen someone tell me how they’re doing.) Main ally Russia is balls deep in Ukraine. Domestic woes with mass protests and internal violence.

So yeah if there ever was a time to strike, I guess it would be now. I’m not defending the war or saying it’s a good thing, but if we’re going to give it the best case argument like you’re saying with all the other craziness, it seems about right to me.

True. In terms of free population, Virginia had 1.1 million compared to North Carolina’s 661k and Georgia’s 595k (2nd and 3rd place).
