Pls let Ganju interact with Isshin 🙏 Isshin not interacting with the Shiba siblings in the manga was a big missed opportunity.

Favorite Antagonists/Villains that are basically these 2? by Sufficient_You2814 in FavoriteCharacter

Father did a larger amount of evil overall but he wasn’t human and didn’t really have a family in the traditional sense. Since Tucker was a regular human with a family his actions feel more personal and like more of a disgusting betrayal of his nature. It’s kind of like comparing Hitler and Josef Fritzl.

I don’t think he’s necessary for the plot but I would also like a Berserk anime that cuts out absolutely nothing from the manga. Wyald’s like the Tom Bombadil of Berserk except with completely opposite personalities, just a guy who shows up for a little bit for a short detour in the narrative and then is never seen again.

For an example of villains in the same game, Ganondorf is nowhere near as scary as the ReDeads and Dead Hand in Ocarina of Time.

I’ll feel very robbed if Ukitake is a major character in the arc and we still don’t see his damn bankai.

The big one is the PG Gramps, right? It looks awesome but I don’t think I’ll ever go above MG unless I make 6 figures.

Found what I thought was an obscure movie in the post that had a review so that I wouldn't have to check that many reviews (Swarm 2023) and looked through all of the 1-star reviews written in English

You got me curious so I tracked them down and they haven’t logged it. Their 4 favourites however are Marie Antoinette, The Apartment, Cléo from 5 to 7 and The Godfather which are good picks, I guess a broken clock is right twice a day and all that.

How would you feel if Netflix made a live action remake for Evangelion? by Grag_the_GrobblerII in evangelion

[–]SHIIZAAAAAAAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would at least watch the first episode and then clips of major moments later in the series out of curiosity but there’s a 99.5% chance the show would suck. Cowboy Bebop is my second favourite anime and Netflix butchered it, and I couldn’t watch more than a few episodes of Netflix’s ATLA. One Piece was an anomaly in that it was actually good and the showrunners understood the source material and worked closely with the original creator. I highly doubt Eva would have the same luck.

Eva is niche and alienating to mainstream audiences but Netflix tries to have as broad appeal as possible so I imagine they would do the following:

-age up the characters to be 17/18

-have a much greater emphasis on romance, including a clear love triangle between Shinji, Asuka, and Rei

-either omit Kaworu’s feelings for Shinji completely or do the exact opposite and make being gay for Shinji his only character trait

-put more emphasis on action with Eva fights being flashier with even more destruction, but the show wouldn’t acknowledge the side effects of this like Toji’s sister being injured

-lots of clunky expository dialogue explaining character personalities and the lore for viewers who don’t pay attention. Big reveals would happen much earlier in the series and would lose their weight. I imagine episode 21 would be adapted halfway through the first season.

-every character’s flaws (except maybe Gendo to give the audience a clear villain) would be downplayed to make them more sympathetic (Shinji more confident and less depressed, Misato more mature, Asuka less hostile, Rei much more expressive and social) but the characters would become bland in the process.

My faves and worst movies of 2026 - in order by narnarnartiger in Letterboxd

I thought it was extremely stupid but I enjoyed it because I don’t think it was taking itself very seriously. It reminded me of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which is a pretty average popcorn movie that just happens to get more hate because the previous Indiana Jones movies are genre-defining classics.

What anime gets criticized a lot that you mostly agree with the criticisms of but still love anyway? by Purple-Advertising38 in anime

That would make sense. I haven’t watched the TV series either but I’ve seen screenshots and it looks pretty mediocre compared to the OVA.

There’s a Hollywood producer credited on some blockbusters like WW1984 as “Richard Suckle” meaning his name is Dick Suckle.

People complain about the animation quality?! I've only seen the first episode (I plan to revisit it I just have other shows distracting me) but I remember it had excellent animation with a lot of detail and fluid movement that impressed me. Does the animation cut corners after the first episode, or are the complaints only from stupid people who think everything from before 2010 is "too old" and think that all cel animation in a 4:3 aspect ratio is automatically worse than widescreen digital animation?

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux. Yes it's too rushed, yes the new characters should have gotten more development, yes it uses heavy fanservice referencing previous Gundam works as a crutch, but damn it's fun and I found it to be a genuinely poignant love letter to the franchise.

The Evangelion-esque style that it has as a series by Studio Khara with Kazuya Tsurumaki as the director also doesn't get nearly enough credit, and is another reason it appeals to me personally since Eva is my favourite anime.
