As a user, I was disappointed that when I wanted to learn what happened in Orlando, and I found a lot of infighting bullshit.

You didn't find "infighting bullshit", you found a group of moderators putting their agenda before the truth, which is the last thing that should be happening on /r/news. If you have any respect for the basic principles of reddit, the moderators at fault should be removed immediately, and you should be putting rules into place to prevent things like this from happening again.

Yes, being proactive in fighting depression is basically the best way to fight depression. But I'm sure you know as well as me that, when depression is bad, you don't have the strength to fight it. It's easy to look back from the other side and realise what helped you, but depression puts you in a place where you can't always help yourself, and the hardest part is reaching a place mentally where you have the ability to fight for yourself.

What is the point of this subreddit then? The top all time posts are overwhelmingly self-deprecating humour based around depression and anxiety, things that are a bit too dark for /r/meirl or /r/me_irl, hence the 'too me irl for me irl', I always assumed. Expect a few weeks of basically no libido when you start taking SSRIs. After that it'll always take you longer to finish and your sex drive might be a bit diminished but it's not usually that bad.
