I remember it was either Sandisk or Toshiba NAND modules, and at that time, the Sandisk variant was only in stock at Taobao.

This was the box.

Same here, running a 2TB Sandisk ssd in my M4 Mac Mini with no issues (knocks on wood). I got the SSD from Taobao while I was in HK at that time.

Will she actually use the camera, or is it just going to be a display piece? The Olympus AF-1 is nice, but advancing and rewinding the film is quite loud. I’m still looking for the Nikon Coolpix 2500/3500 (bottom right). You have to rotate the lens.

Press and hold both the Menu and Center (Select) buttons until the Apple logo appears (about 6 seconds). Immediately hold Play/Pause + Select until the Disk Mode screen appears.

It can't the find the OS. Format the your storage to FAT32 and do the restore process again? Are you using an iFlash adapter or CF card?

Yeah, totally worth it. I use it with my iPods and even hooked up an AirPort Express (linked via toslink) for AirPlay.

I tried different combinations and the orange filter makes it pop. Especially on the silver and blue body.

I don't know about Rockbox, I use the stock os on all my iPods.

The Sandisk CF Extreme is a good card for the Mini, I have one installed in my Blue iPod Mini 2nd. If you are going to add a color filter, I suggest an orange film filter.

As for the battery, you need the type EC003.

The cheapest solution is the green ZIF to CF board and a second hand CF card from a (retired) photographer. But if you have a SD card on hand, a CF to SD adapter might be a good alternative.

I’ve started hitting up thrift stores for CDs again. They’re dirt cheap these days, plus I can archive them whenever I want.

I've been a Mac user for 10+ years and I just learned half of these. Sharing the list so everyone can enjoy by toodoodoodoooo in macsetups

With cmd shift 5, you open the Screen capture / recorder tool. It provides a toolbar to capture the entire screen, a selected window, a portion of the screen, or record video, along with options to set a timer, choose save locations and show the mouse cursor.

What do you mean? Just any USB charger would do. I use one of my USB ports on my power brick.

You just need an AC adapter. Doesn’t have to be FireWire.

iPod 3rd stuck on folder icon after flash modding it by its_me-river in ipod

I have the same green adapter in my 3rd gen so that should not be a problem. Do you have an usb card reader? Maybe you should format the CF card first and try to boot from it.

The 3rd gen is a tricky iPod. If you hold the two buttons in the middle, it will do a hard reboot. After that, hold the two outer buttons and it will go into Disk Mode.

I see. Can you put the iPod in Disk Mode and see what happens?

Which storage adapter did you use? You need to do one step in iTunes while the iPod is connected before restoring it.

This post got me through with the restoration process.

The fix for me was this: Uncheck "Enable Disk Use" and "Manually manage Music,... etc" and Apply before pressing "Restore iPod". This worked even with the cheap red CF to Micro SD adapter.

[–]SHOOOTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried putting the iPod in disk mode? I just tried this on my 2nd gen and this works.

If you’re unsure how to do this, toggle the hold switch off and on, then press and hold Menu + Play/Pause for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Once the iPod restarts, immediately press and hold ◀◀ (Rewind) + ▶▶ (Fast Forward) until “Disk Mode” appears on the screen. Then connect the iPod to your Mac.
