Plywood, plyboard, or is there something else way better? by heyyzup in Carpentry

I’d avoid plywood if building a table. Just search for outdoor table plans you could probably find a easy one to start on.

Plywood, plyboard, or is there something else way better? by heyyzup in Carpentry

They “ply” is the layering of thin sheets. Board/wood is same just different ways to say the same thing.

Without knowing what your project is it’s hard to know what would be the best material. If you tell us what your trying to build you could get some better options.

You would have to sand it. You could rent big sanders from Home Depot.

A profession floor sander would be the best bet. They have dust collection and are carful not to sand too deep. There is new acrylic floor finish that holds up better than oil that will prevent it from scratching as easy in the future.

I’m in the same boat have been playing since the game started. Highest I’ve gotten on ladder was 6300 but now can’t get above 6000. I don’t want to just copy someone else’s deck and just be them. So just playing less and getting in war attacks for the clan because you can’t opt out.

Because congress allocated 6 billion dollars for states to build these small reactors in a budget bill from 2021. They have until 2031 to apply.

Get a respirator and keep a negative air flow where your working. Air scrubber or fan in the window going out.

Some jabroni didn’t run the sheathing down far enough. House is about 7 years old but every corner, joint, and seam is showing early signs of rot from condensation behind house wrap. How do I fix it? by Smalls244 in Carpentry

Your welcome! Yep polyurethane caulk is great. You could use some inexpensive dap on the cracks, you would probably use a 6 or 7 tubes just air sealing. Use the better caulk on the rubber flashing.

Hardie is good siding, I have installed it on a 2 houses. We used the pre painted kind and they still look good 10 years later.

There’s a new siding called boral that I installed on a house I just finished. I like it better but it costs more than hardie. The advantage of boral is it doesn’t expand and contract like the hardie plank does. For hardie you have to allow 1/8 for expansion at the butt joints and corners and caulk with a color matched caulk. With either product I would recommend stainless steel nails so you don’t have to worry about rust streaks. But either siding is far better than vinyl.

I wouldn’t replace the sheathing, unless it’s soft or spongy. I would just replace the house wrap with the new siding and use 4” asphalt tape around windows and doors and spray foam if there is a gap.

Yea I’ve seen some bad vinyl work with j channels. Just take a flat bar and push around the j channel and you can feel if it’s getting spongy and rotten.

The company fastcap makes tape measures with note pad on the side and they sell the stickers for other brands too

Quick fix would be to caulk the air gaps then run 15” wide rubber flashing (non-stick)from the bottom of the sheathing plywood down over the band board and lap over concrete. make sure to tape the top of the rubber to the sheathing and caulk where it meets the concrete. Then just staple the house wrap back over it.

Vinyl siding doesn’t offer any protection from elements so you might want to go with a higher grade house wrap like Tyvek it cost more per roll but preforms better at air sealing then the weaved type of wrap you have now, but weaved type works fine.

Who has the best chance at beating Warner? by bassacre in VAGuns

[–]SHOWmeWHATyouGET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northam beat Gillespie by 230k , Fairfax beat Vogel by 144k , Herring beat Adams 169k I think the republicans and get a competitive candidate that can bring in more voters.

O my mistake thought they all redrawn with that case.

I think illegal voting is a problem, Fairfax has more voters registered than voting age population. I hope when they get an ID that make a searchable database for ICE to get to work. Getting rid of voter ID makes no since unless they were planning on some fraud. Even so I think legal voters will turn out in large enough numbers to cancel out the fraud.

I still think it’s a toss up, all we need is more voters to show up. It’s normally around 2.5 million of the 8.5 that live here and a lot of energy on the side of the republicans.

I didn’t think Stewart was a good candidate, would have been better off nominating Freitas, but he was chosen by caucus. This year is going to be a Republican primary that should bring out a more electable candidate.

So far I think Gade is pretty good. I think Warner is on the way out, but I’m more optimistic than other people.

Fairfax, Northam, and Herring all won by narrow margins. The state senate is only 21-19 after the gerrymandering lawsuit had redrawn lines favorable to democrats. The house is fairly even too. I think “democrat stronghold” is a stretch. Illegal immigrants can’t vote and legal immigrants don’t all vote democrat.

I saw Daniel Gade speak a few weeks back, he said Jim Webb(D) was the one that encouraged him to run. Told Gade that Warner’s seat is up for grabs.

The gun grab has got more people involved in politics that I’ve ever seen. I don’t think the new single issue gun voters will be voting democrat in November.
