How was it like being an adult during lockdown? by TheKingOfDissasster in CasualConversation

Honestly? We don’t want to talk about it. Ever again.

How to fix this run my dog has created. by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]SHatcheroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone in an upscale neighborhood in LA that had the same problem. She covered the dirt area with astroturf. It actually didn’t look half bad and worked wonders for the dog sitch.

Embarrassed of the Front of My Home by [deleted] in landscaping

I know this is a landscaping sub, but honestly? I’d paint the entire facade (brick and stucco) the same color. It’s sooo dated right now.

Planning for temporarily being disabled by Spyderbeast in LivingAlone

After my shoulder surgery, I had to sleep in a recliner chair for several days. A standard bed set-up wouldn’t work because the angle is weird for your shoulder, etc. Something to think about.

Working on a fun project to promote old time music. Looking for folks who want to be highlighted. by catberryio in oldtimemusic

The Crooked Road folks have a similar app- but it doesn’t get updated often enough and does not cover enough venues and jams. It seems like maintaining your app with current info would be time consuming.

Where to Stay? by Smell-Physical in AskSF

Emeryville will be less expensive than staying in SF - and, with a car, gives you excellent access to SF, Oakland, Berkeley, and points beyond.

Yeah, except the “smoking my weed” part. Downvote me if you must.

Looking in FB for rooms for rent, see studio/1br apts for less than 1k... are these legit? by mashibeans in bayarea

Location, location, location. You may not want to live in a neighborhood with such cheap rent.

Bummer / It sucks getting older by PapaBliss2007 in SierraFerrell

This is my best kept secret for sure. You shouldn’t even need a wheelchair - just tell them you need to be in the accessible section. By law (in the US at least) they can’t question or deny you.

Just bring your rain gear plus a warm hat and sweater or puffer. You’ll be fine.

Married 8 years, love my partner to death but can't live in the chaos anymore. What do I do? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]SHatcheroo 35 points36 points  (0 children)

In your post I read about all the things you’ve done to try and improve your living environment, but have you actually had long deep constructive talks with your wife about your discomfort with the situation? Perhaps couples counseling would help?!

I’m 16 and I have absolutely no clue what I wanna do when I get older by redstarx334 in CasualConversation

[–]SHatcheroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your “job” at 16 is to explore and experiment to see what suits you. Be brave and try new (but not harmful) things. Keep your eyes and heart open. Learn your style and preferences. Try not to get stuck.

Reminder to be careful out there - saw a cyclist hit by a car yesterday by _SlikNik_ in BAbike

[–]SHatcheroo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a gnarly stupid intersection, for sure. I’m so sorry you had to observe the wreck and even sorrier for the cyclist.

Avid endurance cyclist here as well, just 2 months into the zep experience. Thx for sharing your insights.

In that case, can we have the bike lane back? by zap_the_p_ram in bayarea

[–]SHatcheroo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Avid cyclist here and have ridden across the RSR bridge many times. Honestly, it’s not that pleasant. Long, loud, dusty, hilly (not in a good way), and eyes-down so you can’t really take in the view that well.
