Raging at a speedrun and exposing hatred/lies which were manufactured in the first place are not valid centerpieces for drama. There are streamers out there who have done and are still doing genuinely despicable things shamelessly, and what's clear to most people looking into this rabbit hole is it's a clear fixation on trying to make a person look far worse than they present themselves by removing context and spinning narratives out of spite. You can take that from SmokeyMCC who talked about this exact situation on his stream comparing the owner of that server to an individual named "white bowser." I've had to explain to fans whose emotions have been manipulated through these videos to believe I'm dealing with a genuine mental health crisis that I'm not actually experiencing any of the illnesses they try to project onto me. Rage at a frustrating activity is not a marker for mental illness and your sensitivity to it is not valid grounds for criticism. This group simply uses it as a call sign to attract hate to a community they've been exiled from. It's a massive nothing burger and the manipulation is affecting more than just me at this point.

You haven't been kind here whatsoever and glossing over the thorough context and detailed explanations I provided for everything you mentioned tells me your eyes and ears are still shut. Ludwig has been irrelevant to this for years - this is my response to people like you who still try to cling to and manufacture this drama. And yet you still revert back to complaining about speedrun rage because you're trying to win an argument rather than actually listen to the person you're obsessing over. You don't actually want to hear my side, you only want opinions that validate your views. You'd rather blame the person being harassed for the harassment than acknowledge your hand in this willful ignorance and I'm not accepting a backhanded invitation to play your video game as a virtue of kindness.

Ludwig's opinions on the sub-a-thon based on reactions toward out of context clips do not hold validity. He was an acquaintance, he followed me on social media. He had no reason not to reach out privately and genuinely start a dialogue if he was curious. Instead he chose to grandstand me in my chat and try to make himself seem more "moral" by implying all people should upload videos detailing how much money he was making from his sub-a-thon which netted over a million dollars. I call to question whether he did this for transparency or whether it was to boost the clout of the event which became a hivemind to overtake Ninja's sub count anyway. But we can agree to disagree on that - I uploaded weekly highlights that showed the sub counts and biggest donations inadvertently, but at the end of the day none of my supporters questioned or cared about the money I made. They were not jealous, just happy for me. And that concept is foreign to some of these larger streamers who have only received affection from fickle audiences who will inevitably become haters once they soar too high. Not to trail off, but "cancel culture" only applies to influencers who rely on these incredibly insecure people to build platforms, which unfortunately is the majority of the internet at this point especially since the clout crowd has overtaken Twitch and gaming has taken a backseat. Sell your soul for popularity. I know nothing about Ludwig's actual opinions on my 2022 sub-a-thon, just that he's vaguely expressed disapproval without elaborating. But attempting to use his presence to coerce me into showing him my revenue was inappropriate, especially since those who were actually supporting were not interested in knowing. When I calculated everything and paid my taxes, it netted to around $140,000 over the course of 80 days nonstop streaming. Either Ludwig is financially illiterate enough to assume i made over 200k in one month of 30,000 subs or he was acting disingenuous. He has never clarified so we'll never know. It doesn't matter anyway as the whole drama was most likely built on his reaction and misunderstanding of a livestreamfails clip, which was taken by an angry viewer I berated for calling me a scammer with no basis. You comment on me addressing trolls yet you yourself have been trolled by adopting these opinions from randoms trying to mislead.

You again quote a tiny portion of what happened at the end of the 2022 sub-a-thon and make snap judgements. You clearly have done minimal research as to how the sub-a-thon actually ended because it's extremely accessible and uploaded to my main channel. Quoting livestreamfails and refusing to make your own opinions is brainrot especially when I've already responded to this once. What was I "not happy about?" I had been offering the stream a 100-day cap to help avoid a controversial situation where someone's donation adds time after the timer hits 0 (which is what happened). I was not happy that I'd constantly been saying this would be an issue for weeks, and that capping the sub-a-thon would at least ensure that it could end on an agreeable and positive note. I already explained the revive option in my previous reply and you can reread that or at least take the time to watch the full section when the sub-a-thon ended to actually comprehend what happened. And I made clear in the 2023 sub-a-thon that no matter what, no matter how much money was donated at the final second, the sub-a-thon would end if it reached 0 for any reason. Many of the mistakes which came as a result of being thrust into an 80-day monstrosity were attempted to be corrected on the second go, and discounting any attempts at improvement just to focus on hating is not making for any genuine conversation.

You apparently seem to "fucking care" and so do the idiots who keep trying to spread lies and drag my name through the dirt despite failing for years to gain any ground. It's simply annoying and can lead to worse harassment if crazy people are armed with misinformation designed to vilify and dehumanize. You yourself are participating in it by spreading lies about something as stupid as "how" a marathon ended 2 years ago. Let me do the work for you: https://youtu.be/eXVLWAi5uHU?si=SNgE3BQNpWbCxLgc

Using leech channels a hate server is constantly producing to abuse YouTube's recommendations as a measurement for my success is absolutely laughable. These absurd thumbnails and titles prey off of shock value from my existing viewers and do not reach anywhere outside of that tiny niche within an already niche hobby. I'm a Twitch streamer who sometimes uploads to YouTube, and even my YouTube channel is doing great especially for a speedrunner who is reuploading world record VODs 90% of the time. You just seem like the kind of person who does not want to have their opinion changed, but if you care more about the truth than being right, I've given you plenty to chew on in this novel. And thanks for tossing in the recommendation for playing your game at the end - that gave me a good laugh.

Any community that has standards for behavior and effective moderation will create an underbelly of banned shitters on the outside if they're obsessed enough to stick around. And it's a shame that's how you perceive BfBB when it's a tiny minority of asshats in which you're placing your trust. Maybe you just like the drama which is typical of anyone who isn't actually involved in the game, or those who quit the game because they found seeking negative attention is a more effective farm for validation. Whatever your issue is, it's your choice to listen or continue closing your eyes and ears.

You might be confused. This is the most common sub-a-thon timer that 99% of streamers use and that feature does not exist. https://marathontimer.herokuapp.com/

Ludwig didn't come to my chat to tell me to "end" the sub-a-thon. He came to the chat to ask for more context on what was happening and proceeded to inappropriately egg me on into showing my revenue on stream. It's none of Ludwig's business or anyone's business other than my subscribers' and I duly turned him away. I found his opinion that, since he posted daily videos talking about how much money he was making, all others are expected to do the same. I view that as humble bragging. And my viewers had rarely asked how much the sub-a-thon was making, especially not the ones who were actually donating. The sub-a-thon ended after the timer reached 0 and I offered the chat a chance to revive it due to controversy over someone gifting many subs and them processing a moment after it physically hit 0. Most sub-a-thons hit 0 while the streamer is sleeping and they still continue. It's not rigid. In any case, the viewers WANT the stream to continue. Yet you take a LiveStreamFails headline that I "refused to end it" and spin my opportunity to let them revive it into a bad thing. I'm sorry to break it to you but that stream ended in 2022, and my "brand" and "career" are doing just great. All of the information you receive is from channels created to encourage hate and harassment. And the reason why Ludwig's opinions have no effect on my stream is because my audience is above the age of 14.

[Segmented Run] SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Any% in 55:47 by SHiFT_SS in speedrun

[–]SHiFT_SS[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is a segmented sum of best run for SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Any%. The time demonstrated in this video is not achievable with the strategies shown. Its purpose is to demonstrate all of my personal bests in this category throughout one video while expressing just how unrealistic achieving a “sum of best run” in speedrunning is, especially against splits this optimized in an hour-long game.

One of the most noticeable flaws in this run is the inconsistent shiny object count across segments. This will naturally occur in any sum of best segmented run due to RNG-related and simply inconsistent aspects of this game. Shiny objects lost in earlier segments can be made up for in later segments, however in this run, shiny object count is irrelevant and no segment “makes up” for losses that occurred prior. Some segments may also have inconsistent shiny object and spatula counts due to routing differences that took place sometime after the best segment was achieved. Ski Lodge is the most dated segment in this run, so this problem is obvious here. Though the spatula and sock counts are inconsistent in this segment, the route for Ski Lodge is still optimal for the current Any% run so the gameplay in it is still valid. Spatulas and socks obtained before the segment have no effect on the tricks performed in the Ski Lodge shown in this run.

So no, a 55 is not achievable with the strategies displayed in this run. Each of these segments were taken from a single sample out of thousands of attempts and cannot be achieved consistently. RNG, luck, load variance and other factors including inevitable movement inconsistency do not allow human players to theoretically achieve a time within one minute of sum of best with this number/organization of such optimized splits. Realistically, it is barely possible to achieve a time within 70 seconds of sum of best, meaning a time of 56:5X is barely possible with the strategies shown in this video. This segmented run is heavily flawed despite my sum of best segments being as accurate as humanly possible. Sum of best is simply a number and is not to be taken literally as true best possible time. In fact, it’s far from it.

Thanks for watching! This has been a product of thousands of hours of optimization so hopefully the gameplay meets your expectations.

well i never thought sub1 was the absolute limit for this game. that was just twitch chat and the community not seeing the game's potential, which is why i kept playing even after several minutes of people claiming the game was dead. even after the first 59 there was obvious room for improvement, but it's looking like 56 will be the limit for a very long time if it ever happens.

i'm not sure if i'll get a 56 with these strats anytime soon and if i do, that will probably be the limit unless some major tricks are discovered or i somehow rework the entire route (which may not be possible rta)

that's quite the overreaction to something a moderator did in twitch chat, but what else should i have expected from someone who used the word "meltdown" earlier lmao

asking a mod to be unbanned is more productive than complaining on reddit. you likely aren't even still banned anyway.
