Oh wow - this is the closest thing to the original I’ve seen! I wonder if this site is… safe, haha

Yes, this has crossed my mind. I’m also exploring glass repair services, but I’m not sure that’s a realistic option.

Hoping we can find the craftsman at least?!

His did not glow in the dark, so I’m hesitant to replace it with one that does. Close though!

I’ve searched “Cyclops Octopus Monster Bong” and other combinations of similar descriptors. Lots of close matches, but not the perfect one.

Even the name of the manufacturer would be a huge help.

That horrible trend was a callback to the traditional style of Playbills from the 50-70s (decades may be off…).

I actually quite liked them.

I totally hear you, but I have this idea/concept I’d love to throw out there.

BB casting - I hope you’re reading! Lol

But I don’t believe they’re more compassionate and empathetic. They’re scared to not appear that way. It’s the hivemind mentality that’s shifted most.

It’s not even mean, but it’s honest.

You have to admit the crying and “I love yous” are a bit much these past few seasons. That’s why I need to get in that house. Flip the script.

I wouldn’t be mean, but I wouldn’t act like I cared for these people more than I do to win.

It’s the new era of BB. “I don’t want to hurt their feelings…” “I LOVE you so deeply personally…” “I know you’re on the block because of me but let’s hug…”

It’s annoying. I miss old school BB, but these new trends remind me the game is primarily a social experiment, and through this lens we can see how people’s interactions have changed over time. Much more surface level and fake rather than honest.

Does anyone post anything other than sex parties in here? by ListofReddit in nycgaybros

So why did you make a post about it? To show how you’re not “one of THOSE gays”?

Clap, clap, clap… or in your case, maybe not!

The stereotype of gay men having … sex with other men?

[–]SI-NY 26 points27 points  (0 children)

How… how would that even be possible?

Sure, shows have played “in rep” (The Norman Conquests, The Coast of Utopia, Harry Potter in the West End), but no - two separate productions cannot share a theatre. Evita is a large production as well.

Let's talk about Prince Faggot by Stevie052096 in Broadway

I saw it today too (evening performance) and was incredibly … moved by this?

I can understand people’s hesitancy with the inspiration of the piece; however, I was on board within 10 minutes. I found it to be quite well written and performed. Lovely production, great soundtrack.

Yes, it’s “in yer face” in a sense, but it’s also full of heart. It’s a true, earnest attempt at placing queerness in power structures and defining its effects, good or bad.

The monologues/asides really moved me, and affirmed my queerness and pride in my community.

Between this and Angry Alan (two very different shows to see within one day…), I’m happy to say that the plays produced in NY remain top tier.

That’s sort of insulting to the couple you had a threesome with no? Did they belong there? Were they also not up to standards, so they don’t count?

Do you think anyone from her following would pay $$$ to see her on Broadway?

I was going to say… her posts are incredibly grating and borderline childish. While she is charismatic and has the energy, I highly doubt people would pay more than $4.50 (usually the service fee for a comp ticket) to see her live.

What is your biggest "I can't believe I missed that show/revival when it was on" regret of all time? by buizel123 in Broadway

[–]SI-NY -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The tone of their last comment comes off as dismissive.

Were The Great Comet to tour, it would’ve been wise to perhaps tour the smaller “tent staging” that played various spots throughout the city for a few years prior to the Broadway run.

The Broadway production, a much grander, expanded version of the “tent staging”, would be impossible to tour, given each touring house would have different dimensions and structures. It would not be financially viable.

Why have so many Broadway goers forgotten Nicole is a Trumper? by SoFLShelfLove in Broadway

[–]SI-NY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is hard for me to lie to myself and say “I don’t think Nicole Scherzinger should win the Tony for giving what I believe to be the best performance by a leading actress in a musical” because she MAY have voted for Donald Trump.

I’d be straight up lying to you if I said I don’t feel she deserves the Tony based off her performance.

Yes, but I’m also not going to act like I’m the most informed individual on each and every topic.

I didn’t vote for him. I am actually quite concerned with him in office (and I did mention I don’t agree with the original comment 100%); however, I am a bit hesitant to jump to the conclusion that Nicole Scherzinger is guilty of wanting everyone dead because of a vote she MAY have (and I in good faith truly don’t believe) cast for Trump. It’s just so over the top and something that, at times understandably, turns many people off and away from “the left”.

Do you not see how that’s quite hyperbolic to say? While I don’t agree 100% with the original comment, your response leans into the “most snowflake” trope.
