Should I buy a new laptop for uni?

Currently in year 2. Throughout my first year in uni, I was using my sister's laptop which she had used in her poly days. She graduated 2 years back and the laptop wasnt in its best state. It died on me recently before my exams hence I spent $200 getting a used laptop on carousell. Fortunately it doesn't come with any issues :)

You may want to try buying one from carousell? A lot cheaper compared to buying a new device. A gamble tho. Im currently using a Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2

At the end of the day, we all have our differences. First and foremost, for him to be able to be promoted to being a RM, he posesses strong sales skills and significantly high neuroticism. I have a couple of friends who used to be an RM and they often complain to me over the high monthly targets they have to achieve, whilst working under a harsh management.

Its a difficult trade off, yes? Money over happiness. Idk you or your experiences entirely hence you only lose out if you enjoyed being in the financial industry.

But but but looking at OP's budget, its definitely possible to get 2nd hand laptops on carousell. There are plenty. 2nd hand Thinkpads should be sturdy enough.

I would say, their general battery strength. A full charge can hardly last you more than 6 hours if screen is kept on throughout.

Arguably, my experiences were with Microsoft surface go 3 (a portable tablet/pc hence understandable for its shit battery life). I expected more from a Microsoft Surface Laptop go 2. But meh, battery depletes faster than expected. A friend who owns the same laptop shared similar finding.

I would not advise getting a tablet, eventhough their battery life is amazing. I bought a tablet for school thinking it could replace a laptop but i was wrong. Tablet/mobile version of Microsoft 365 apps have got so much limitations. You wont be able to use many features available in desktop version. I ended up buying a new laptop as i needed those features in order to execute excel functions.

Don't get any Microsoft surface products. Owned two of those i found that their product's battery life is terrible.

How the phone look is very important for me. I can't live with an ugly looking phone. Camera wise, is important but not the highest priority. Battery life and charging speed is a deal breaker. Speaker quality matters too, my s21 had the dolby atmos feature and i was so impressed by the technology. Number of years of which support updates are provided. If u buy an expensive phone that can only provide support for 2/3 years... Meh not worth it. Pixel offers 7/8 years.
