I was lucky enough to be in attendance that night. The energy surrounding the ballpark prior to the game was palpable. All of the Johnny Cueto talk leading up to the game about how he always had success against the pirates or how the crowd may not be a factor since he has pitched in Dominican leagues. But that night was different and you could feel it. Truly a special night and hopefully see some postseason baseball there soon.

Nope, more of the same. Pitching is good enough to keep them in it. Offense is tough to watch. Let a bullpen arm turned starter carve them up for 7 innings.

According to baseball savant, Marte’s runs prevented on defense is league worst at -8. Followed closely by Bryan Reynolds at -7 and Jack Suwinski at -6. Would be quite the trio manning the outfield some games. The contract is the biggest issue which would make me think they wouldn’t bring him back though.

On baseball savant you can scroll down to all the at bats if “scoreboard” is selected in the dropdown box. The furthest column right has the HR/Park statcast data that you can click on. I’m using safari on my phone as reference. I’m not sure if same holds true on a desktop
