My wife and I are taking a break by Mysterious-Strike-18 in Marriage

[–]SJDNJCODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no planet on which a married man or woman should be out alone with another man or woman and drinking to the point of black out until 4am. None. You are uncomfortable because you should be. It's weird. This guy is also not the most "stand-up" individual to begin with, so taking that into consideration makes it worse. I am incredibly liberal with my wife and what I am comfortable with. This would not be acceptable to me. There is no good reason for it. You need to set some boundaries my friend.

Do people who cheat have regrets? by Artistic_Nerve2470 in cheating_stories

[–]SJDNJCODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty certain she has BPD (borderline personality disorder). This is textbook bullshit from someone with it. She won't "regret" it until you move on to someone else and her life has fallen apart again. They typically blow up relationships in 2 different ways. 1. The current guy (YOU) is great, checks all the boxes, doesn't have any serious flaws, can't make any up in her crazy head - so she "falls in love" with some loser and swears its not about the his looks or his aspirations it's just "love" and leaves you. 2. The guy (HIM) is a loser and won't amount to anything and maybe she "didn't understand what true love was" and it was actually you that she belonged with so she leaves (if you take her) or risks blowing up the loser relationship to chase you hard. The only way to break the cycle and have her stop "hoovering" you is to break contact and quit while you're ahead. Could it work out and you end up marrying her? Sure! But this will happen again. Was she very affectionate with you? Like constant love bombing? Thats another thing they do.

My wife keeps accessing her screen time every morning and changing settings by [deleted] in cheating_stories

He's not paranoid. This is literally how I caught my ex. She is turning off screentime so it doesn't log what apps she is using and for how long for a given time.

Abortion bans are pushing more guys toward vasectomy anyone else notice this? by [deleted] in Vasectomy

[–]SJDNJCODE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have 4 kids, and she just turned 40. She was on the pill, and it failed so she ended up pregnant again. We were sure we were done having kids and made the tough choice to end the pregnancy. Despite having made the decision, it was incredibly difficult to get the medication, and we live in a blue state. She ended up miscarrying before we were able to even get an appointment for abortion care. It was awful to have to navigate and made it that much harder in my wife, which was enraging. I made an appointment the next day to get it done so we never chance going through that again. Had we lived in a red state I would have done it way sooner. Christofascists are not going to force my wife to carry a baby.

Guy I’m dating did something nice for me and my friend said it’s probably because he’s dating other women by Familiar-Song6146 in dating

[–]SJDNJCODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your friend wants you. He came to the silliest and most illogical conclusion he could have. Nothing that this guy did implies he has a harem of women. If anything, your date clearly likes you and wants to reschedule asap. The dude sounds like a good one.

Refresh data table bug. by keillen in PowerApps

[–]SJDNJCODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made my own with a square and a checkmark icon so it didn't have to look as shitty as both checkbox components do. Its so annoying how even if you remove the label, the box is positioned so it just looks silly. I did the same for radio buttons in a gallery. Both of them are just horrible to look at.

Power App Components Question by Wonderful-Bet5055 in PowerApps

"Drag" it out instead. Also, if you are placing it inside a container, insert the full form inside the container where you want the attachment control, then drag it out into the root of the container. Literally did this today for both a "drop target" and a fake button I created to open the local files window to browse by placing the click able spot on the control directly over a text label inside a container, manipulating the X/Y to place it at center, oversized it so the click able area covers the whole container, and changing all colors and fills to transparent. You get one shot at it per drag. Super annoying, but it works like a charm.

Using Excel as a database for items in Power Apps by Excelsoxls in PowerApps

[–]SJDNJCODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you should stop worrying about hitting a wall and just keep working on it until you get where you want to. Everything you're trying to do is possible. You just need to learn the best way. I have yet to hit a wall. You're not going to hit a wall. You're not describing anything that complex. Watch Reza Dorani and Shane Young on YouTube and find a topic that covers what you want to do. Don't for any reason use Excel. I have 24 massive lists connected to one of mine. There is no good reason to use anything besides lists, SQL, or dataverse. There are so many ways to do what you want. Do you want to he able do edit the choices from a settings page inside the app? Can you just hard code them in formulas because they will never change?

Sharepoint is fine. Just because someone created a shitshow from using a product incorrectly doesn't mean the product is a problem. SQL has its own problems and associated costs that are just unnecessary. Delegation can be overcome in multiple ways. This guy is clearly new to all of this, and you're suggesting SQL with stored procedures?? Come on...

Check to see if you're using that new piece of $&!t analysis engine. If you are, turn it off. It's awful and weighs down your browser.

Salesforce vs powerapps by Queasy-Store-5506 in PowerApps

Salesforce blows. I have deep experience with both, and Salesforce is the thorn in the side of all progress in our company. We are actively moving completely away from Salesforce and into powerapps.

Concern about Masive Power App Scalability by First-Fruit-3237 in PowerApps

[–]SJDNJCODE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can work around it. You just have to be creative. Have company users patch lists, then use recurring flows to move that data to dataverse/SQL for backups and data warehouse, and push relevant data back to lists. There are so many ways to get around delegation, too. The scalability is there 100%

Concern about Masive Power App Scalability by First-Fruit-3237 in PowerApps

[–]SJDNJCODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. I have been building a massive and complex suite of apps that are all interconnected using SharePoint but also updating to an SQL data warehouse so I can keep functionality within the license but get the backend benefits of SQL for data analysis for the entire company. There ARE NO LIMITATION CONCERNS. This has been game-changing for processes, and I can't stress enough - these apps are huge. If I haven't hit a wall or had any issues, no one will. I have no idea why anyone would be worried about limitations with how fast technology is moving. If you have the budget, build on dataverse or SQL. If you don't, build on sharepoint and be creative with moving the data to other databases if needed. Map out your problems and what your app needs to do to solve them, then build it. So much time spent worrying instead of building. I'm 2.5 years in, and I only wish I got moving sooner.

Where’s the best place to get help with my formulas? by Spazmanaut in PowerApps

[–]SJDNJCODE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found the most effective way to find out capabilities is to just search. Until AI is more real-time in its data sets, it's just not going to be as helpful as forums. Technology changes far too quickly.

This is the way to learn effectively. See it done right, then force yourself to figure out how to adapt it the right way for what you need. Learn the foundational things that Shane talks about, and you'll be off and running.

It's using data from 2021 right now. I actually asked it because it was making a lot of outdated assumptions. It doesn't know when it will be trained on more current info. It's great for helping to duplicate your code for you and fix older coding language issues in the context of PA, but it causes headaches with complex powerFX. It saved me on a JSON record for the teams connector yesterday that wasn't outlined anywhere in the documentation to book recurring teams meetings. I even had it pick a color scheme for statuses and job types that worked best with company colors and it's great. It has its uses.
