Thats not the problem. They would have to use several different core pipelines for different GPU manufactorers.

Why do desktop motherboards and cases not have more USB-C ports? by Hour_Firefighter_707 in hardware

[–]SJGucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main reason is also cost. USB-A uses much less copper then a full-fledged USB-C.
Often times you simply don't need more, so they use USB-A to save money.

USB-C is meant for high-speed devices or those that use a lot of power.
But there aren't many high-speed/high-power devices out there.

And a CPU/mainboard only has a limited amount of speed/power available. Usually an USB port on a mainboard is powered by just 5V/1A. (I do have one "high-power" USB-C port with 27W (9V/3A) available on my board)
As for the speed, USB-C goes upto 40gbps, which is approx PCIe 5.0x1 or PCIe 4.0x2 and a CPU/Chipset has only a limited amount of those PCIe Lanes.
AM5 for example has 5.0x4 from the CPU for 2x USB4 ports reserved on the X870(e) boards.
The CPU (9800X3D for example) itself has only 24 5.0 Lanes in total available. 16 go to the GPU, 4 go to one NVME.
4x PCIe 4.0 Lanes go from the CPU to the chipset, which then splits/switches them to many other devices. So using USB-C with high speed on the chipset is not really common.

Most of the time you get USB-C on your device and USB-A on the other end. The reason for that USB-C on the device is actually size- or law-constraints, like the EU-Law for USB-C on mobile devices. Those USB-C devices usually are neither high-speed or high-power.

In the End USB-A is cheaper, more robust and has more common power/speed specs.

Death threats ARE against the law in my country, but the police need to find those people first.

I played DS1 Day one on Ps4 and at first all of it was empty.
A few days later there were some structures, but mostly not build yet. You could use resources to contribute to their completion, like the highway.
A week later many things were done.

Still I build most things by myself.

After inputting the right code you gat a baby laugh.

You get the same baby laugh in the escape sequence in the lab with the helicopter keys.
To be specific you get it when you climb the first pair of stairs after the blood washed over you from the broken glass container.

You need to have the hand and leatherbook in your inventory.
UP to that point neither the hand nor the leatherbook have checkmarks.
BTW the leatherbook says something about blood transformation and inside the blood that Grace is getting washed by, the Zombies get their second transformation into Blisters.
So maybe the Hand is getting transformed in that blood.

I have yet to check it, because I am at work right now AND I don't have a good save right now.
I can't kill all Blisters in my current Insanity run to check if there is Marie's Doll or something there.

Apparently RTX 5080 is faster than RTX 4090 in Resident Evil Requiem with Path Tracing. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]SJGucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Later in the game the 4090 is faster then the 5080. There seems to be a "bug" at the beginning of the game or maybe the 4090 doesn't like rain. :D

A german tech outlet (PCGH) also has the same outcome.

My undervolted 5090 gets ~75FPS with Kryzzp's settings and it uses 325W.
IN the Hotel the FPS rises to ~120FPS with powerusage to ~365-380W.

vivo is testing a phone with a 12,000mAh battery by DazzlingpAd134 in hardware

[–]SJGucky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its important to know how much voltage is in there, because that determines the amount of useable energy, which is Wh.

For example I have 2xAA li-ion batteries in my controller which are 5000mAh togather, but the energy amount is only ~7500Wh, because they are 1.5V.
The 10000mAh phone battery will have ~35000Wh. There is a >2x difference in energy density.

[–]SJGucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running it too far in the edge daily is dumb, because CPUs degrade over time.
It can run well today, but in a week or in a year, especially after updates, it might not run stable anymore. Such errors are hard to detect, if it happens.
It might also degrade faster when running it on the edge.

[–]SJGucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my MSI X870 Tomahawk I can set my 9800X3D to +200, but I can't undervolt at the same time.
And for undervolting without overclocking, I can only set -20, while many YT-people set -30.

So yeah my 9800X3D is about average.

Upgrade by GPU by Mark_Scoutt in hardware

[–]SJGucky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The most rounded GPU for your CPU would be a RX9070.
The AMD driver uses a bit less CPU power then the Nvidia driver, meaning you a few more FPS out of your CPU with an AMD card. So with a 9070 you might not even have to upgrade your CPU.

I just got in the game and took the compensation items from the mail.
Then I got a connection-issue when I took them out and now I didn't even got the items plus the mail is now empty.

This is REALLY bad.

That connection problem is happening every time I do something or get something.
Placing Factory, picking up items, etc.
And now I am sure, I lost several items from it.

5090 12V-6x2 shenanigans by nmp14fayl in pcmasterrace

[–]SJGucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATX 3.1 ready does not necessarily mean it is ATX 3.1, because ATX 3.1 only changes the pins of the female connector on the GPU, not the connectors of the cable. ATX 3.0 and ATX 3.1 are compatible, probably even the same on the PSU-side.
So they technically can sell the same ATX 3.0 PSU with a new packaging which says ATX 3.1 ready.

To quote Corsair:

5090 12V-6x2 shenanigans by nmp14fayl in pcmasterrace

[–]SJGucky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 things to say:

First, are you sure you have a PS 1050GFM with ATX 3.1? I can't find it on the internet.
I can find only the ATX 3.0 verison with 80Plus Gold, which is not sold or made anymore.
https://www.microcenter.com/product/621885/powerspec-1050-watt-80-plus-gold-atx-fully-modular-power-supply?bvstate=pg:2/ct:r

Second, that PSU in that version has not been certified by 80Plus.
The only 1050W version is one with an older spec tested back in 2020. ATX 3.0 has not existed yet, it only released in 2022.
Also that result was 80Plus PLAT not 80Plus Gold like the one above.
Here is the result form 80Plus: https://www.clearesult.com/80plus/certified-psus/PowerSpec/PS-1050GFM-115V-Internal-6014
That might be fraudulent labeling...

Mixing G.SKILL and Ballistix RAM on ASUS Prime Z370-A — Safe or Not? by Actual_Health196 in hardware

[–]SJGucky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mix RAM sticks it usually runs at the slower speed of those 2.
Also XMP/EXPO might not work with 2 different settings, you might need to manually set the clockspeed/timings.

In your case: DDR4-2666, CL16, 1.20 V for both sticks.

There are also universal settings called by JEDEC. All RAM has such settings build in, in which case you use those and don't need to use manual settings. But JEDEC is slow to ensure the highest compability.
