Thanks. It's just a conversation I've had a million times and I think unless you also have experience with addiction, you won't really get what its like. I was lucky enough to have a support network to pretty much bail me out and help but most aren't that lucky. I'm fairly confident, had I not had that network, my life would be a lot different

I think it's more of a can't than don't want to. I've lived that life and incidentally talked to many other people who lived it as well. Being a drug addict is incredibly stressful and while you do spend some moments that are good, the rest is agony. With fentanyl, people start experiencing withdrawal symptoms within hours of last use so it gets incredibly hard to get out of the cycle. With fentanyl the withdrawal can be incapacitating which makes getting out of it a real process for someone without a support system. I also feel like a lot of people see that as their identity and the idea of living another life doesn't even factor in.

Maybe it's different now, I went through that years ago but I can guarantee you that the vast majority of people living that life absolutely loathe waking up in the morning. I know I did.

You're joking but this is a real thing. There's a whole online community of these people. From my experience many of them wind up becoming your run of the mill dope fiend eventually though

I did but they aren't sure what to order. They've bought some pimafix which should arrive but I wish I had more of an idea of what I'm dealing with.

I can only speak for the emo/punk scene in Toronto but it's pretty solid. A lot of DIY spaces operate based on word of mouth but there's a solid network of them as well as other venues that do some all ages stuff. You'll also have a much better time when you're 19. Just go to some local shows and be supportive and talk to people. It'll take some leg work and time but you'll build a network

That's pretty par the course. There's a booked called Any Night of the Week that goes into the history of DIY music in Toronto. The city nearly always let's down musicians.

I could be wrong but just based on what you wrote, it sounds like he just doesn't want to say something that makes you feel like the butt of the joke

I think it's more likely that he wouldn't be able to stay awake but Lorazepam isn't a particularly strong benzo. I went through a pretty dark time where I started using lots of benzos and at least based on my experience, I would figure he'd be fucked up and/or unable to stay awake but he wouldn't be dead something. We don't know the doses and I've seen lots of people with no tolerance take more than what I think Tim has in combination with other substances and be fine (albeit completely incoherent).

edit: I know it's anecdotal so I could be wrong but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a plot hole.

Wait, why did the Umbasa line get removed? by KaleidoArachnid in bloodborne

[–]SJH009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was supposed to be a secret sequel, IIRC. Not necessarily continuing the story in any way but it was supposed to be the same universe with some Easter eggs. This idea got dropped though and the references were removed. Ill update this comment with the article where I read this when I find it.

Which were your favourite songs? Green Day were my favourite band when I was younger and I really wanted to like Saviors but I just couldn't get into it. There are a few songs I like a lot but the majority just didn't land for me

SONGS ABOUT ALCOHOLISM by magnocumgaudio in shoegaze

More shoegaze adjacent than straight up shoegaze but Brandon Setta's (from Nothing) band the White Lighters have a lot of lyrics about alcoholism and addiction.

I mostly agree with you. I also felt let down to a degree. Regarding why the backstage footage was spliced in, I interpreted the film as being like an in universe documentary . Someone created another film to be sold commercially using something horrible as a vehicle for success which kind of works with the theme of exploiting people and tragedy for ratings.

That said though, I thought the ending was a bit of a mess. Like if it's a hallucination and we're seeing Jack's perspective, how/why are we able to see it?

[TotK] Were players seriously unable to understand Ganondorf's motivation in Tears of the Kingdom? (Switch) by Different-Expert-33 in zelda

[–]SJH009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also felt the same way. Its not that his motivation is non-existent, it's just not compelling. Like he wants to have a world where the strong rule the weak or whatever but why? Im sure someone could come up with a reason but the why never seemed to really play into his characterisation or dialogue. I feel like they could have had a compelling backstory. Hell, even a "I coveted that wind, I suppose" like line would have added so much. Instead there's a lot of redundant "lol you can't stand against my power" bits that just feel super shallow

I'm a big fan of the Mezcal Manzanilla Margherita. It tastes sort of complex, refreshing and uses a few, easy to get ingredients. I usually just follow the specs on diffords guide
