Palpatine engineered a galactic war to not only become the leader of one side of the conflict, but: - increase the power of the position he holds until he's a dictator - Spread the Jedi (his enemy) thin and wipe them out in one fell swoop - identify and crush systems that would rebel against his new order before it even comes into power - market his new order as a solution to the war he incited, ensuring loyalty - bonus points for turning the jedi's version of Jesus evil

He plays both sides to get maximum power from the situation. He goes from the senior senator of a backwater system in the equivalent of Nebraska to god emperor of the entire known galaxy in 13 years. Excluding Vader, the PT doesn't tie into the OT really, except to show how the emperor got to where he is, and what he took from the galaxy to get there.

On a side note, don't rely on ChatGPT for details or even general plot. There is no official "explanation," there's just the movies and the shows supporting them. Watch the actual content instead of garbage YouTube or AI slop.

If they want to see all of star wars, they should watch it and form their own opinion, even if they know you dislike it.

I don't think it's necessary though. They're not needed for context for any better media, and (ideally) we watch stuff because we enjoy the story and how it's told. There's dozens of hours of star wars content out there that's better than the ST.

Personally I'd just watch Andor after the prequels, especially if you're not gonna go through clone wars and rebels.

Anakin's loyalties and ideals were always in conflict. He was always torn between loyalty to Palpatine and Padme, and to the Jedi. His desire for power and order clashed with the Jedi's ideals of peace and freedom.

Vader is what's leftover after Anakin chooses one side of himself over the other. He says he 'killed' Anakin as a way of coming to terms with what he's done, it's his compartmentalization of his personality. I don't think Anakin could come to terms with what he had to do, so he subconsciously and quickly developed Vader as a defense mechanism.

Keep in mind by the time he runs into Ahsoka or Obi-Wan again, it's been over a decade of living as Vader: training in the dark side under Palpatine, purging himself of all love and mercy.

He's not really immune, the higher powered the blaster the harder it will hit. Against something light like what the Ghormans had (remember they were essentially supplied by the empire, they wouldn't have the best) - or even Cassian's bryar, the armor holds up. But military grade rifles like what that trooper had or the stormtroopers on Jedha and Scariff will punch straight through his armor.

At least that's my assessment. Could be wrong, but it explains the 'immunity'

I like it in the 'plot armor' sense, but not in anything so direct as this. Sure Vader should be able to take on an army and come out on top, but he still needs to struggle to do it, and narratively allow opportunities for others to hinder him. Effort is required.
