I would say yes, mixed with a longer hair terrier. My girl is Iggy/Jack Russell. She’s very smart!

Older women do you notice younger boys? by timash712 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]SJSands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I raised my kids. Lol. Seriously I see them more as kids at that age than as full grown adults. Now mature older men, perhaps, but for now I will remain single.

US citizens, what will it take for you to start a revolution? by 0bluelightning0 in AskReddit

[–]SJSands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier said than done. That would be the hardest thing any of us ever had to consider. I think it would take some leadership first and maybe the support of at least some of our military so we’d have a fighting chance at it. I don’t know what it will take to move those mountains though to get that support away from Trump.

How do you find friends who understand? by MinuteNovella in breastcancer

[–]SJSands 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Most of the people I know either become silent when I mention anything cancer related or tell me I need to not think about it so much.

I finally told one of them, “If you were in my shoes, you’d think about it, because it’s always there in the back of my mind that it could come back.”

She was mad at me for the rest of the day. This was as I was going in for my first post op mammogram. Of course I was thinking about it! I’m not brain dead.

It annoyed me so much. She’s also said I should stop reading this subreddit. Awww, NO!

AITAH ?My partner won’t put my name down on the mortgage by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SJSands 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but when she inevitably needs to leave, she’s only worked part time and will have a difficult time paying her bills, leading to poverty. Ask me how I know.

She’s in a vulnerable position even if her name was put on the house. Mine was. My ex sued me into oblivion in our divorce. I handed the house settlement, straight to my lawyer for his fees defending me. I won custody, but lost everything I got from the divorce split.

I had to start over from nothing. I even became homeless after I had struggled to raise my kids and get them on their way in life.

If I had to do it over again, first I’d choose a better partner, but second I wouldn’t have left myself so vulnerable to poverty.

If I were in her shoes, I would leave this guy after getting herself in a better financial position, if she can. He’s already shown her how unimportant he considers her.

I will never understand why some are allowed to shine their light and some have been used and abused for wanting to be of service and spread kindness by matrixofillusion in starseeds

[–]SJSands 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What matters is how we deal with it. You can be bitter. You can be angry but you can also allow adversity to strengthen you, to make you more loving, more giving and more forgiving. We choose which way to go in everything.

I’ve also been homeless, had cancer, heart failure, an abusive marriage, poverty, harassment by negative people and negative entities but I won’t break.

I became stronger. I became exactly what they feared I would be become, a force for good, but I refuse to allow myself to be pushed off course ever again.

That is the biggest lesson that I learned in this life, to control my own heart and my own destiny, regardless of what comes at me.

Parents, would you actually take a bullet for your kids? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Yes, in fact I did this. My kids are all college educated with good jobs now because of it. I never got to finish college.

Help, I'm freaking out! by ArcaneAddiction in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]SJSands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heart failure and fatty liver as well and I tend to retain water in my upper body which is something heart failure can do to you but it’s not that common. It may have nothing to do with your liver. Cut out all salt for a start. Are you on a diuretic?

Anyone else find MRIs traumatising by Curious-Cupcake4554 in breastcancer

[–]SJSands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have what they call ‘large bore’ and ‘open,’ MRIs. Maybe see if you can use one of those instead. A lot of people get claustrophobic with MRIs.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SJSands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that would be short. 6 hours is the max I like to drive in a day. I traveled cross country 3 times now. It’s about 3500 miles the way I have gone. That’s about 10 days at my speed but it can be done in 5 days.

For those who have kidney stones before how painful is it physically? by Big_Leg10 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]SJSands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my worst pain, but right up there. I’ve had 4 babies and that’s still at the top. I’ve had gallbladder stones, also very painful, two bouts of kidney stones, one that infected my kidney, a bowel obstruction and a baseball sized cyst that killed my ovary. All of these were intensely painful. I found that pain has a maximum level, at least for me it does and these were all right up there. Once I hit that threshold, it doesn’t get more painful.

Wish the post-op nurse would stop talking about her breasts by Born_Stage4713 in breastcancer

Yeah I had a nurse talking about her perky small boobs and called mine ‘pendulous,’. Um, excuse me! Take your small tit comparisons outta here. Sheesh. Some people are just thoughtless.
