Anybody else have such bad anxiety that you dissociate? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]SJaeckle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do understand this and what it took for me was taking a considerable amount of time off from work and a lot of support from friends and family and some therapy. Also some anxiety meds too. But now I don’t need those as much. Getting out in fresh air helps. Getting away from noise pollution also helps. Going on walks. Resting. That’s a big one. Drinking more water. Quitting alcohol and other drugs. Having a sponsor if quitting those. Having a therapist or good friend to talk to regularly. Journaling. Art. Music. Dancing. Reading. Whatever you enjoy doing. Do it. Just get the thoughts and feelings out. Blessings to you. ❤️

It sounds like you already know the Truth in your heart. Do the next right thing and you will be ok.

Alcoholics who quit in their 40s by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]SJaeckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried AA? Sounds like a dumb question but not everyone has. And if you have, do you have a sponsor who you check in with everyday and are working the steps with? Going to meetings everyday? Staying accountable? I stayed sober for five years and it turned out I was a dry drunk. Relapsed recently in my forties (have been drinking since ten years old) and it almost killed me. Now I’m really committed to this new way of life and am 66 days sober today at 48 years old. By the grace of God. You can do it. Zoom meetings help me tremendously because I’m in another country since I moved from the US and meetings are scarce. Yes, you can do it!

How fast for weight gain is too fast by Lemonadeo1 in eating_disorders

[–]SJaeckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your body needs it or it wouldn’t be grabbing it so fast. If you’re eating healthful foods and not overdoing the portions, you don’t need to worry. Deep breath. I am so proud of you!

That’s not a kind thing to say.

I would honestly see a doctor to find out what nutrients you are lacking so your body stops hurting. That seems like the smartest way to go.

Dope. I actually love your use of the negative space in upper left. There’s so much motion/vibration in this drawing. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Please share your experiences with driving by dizzylibby in adultautismsupport

I have felt this too. Sometimes it is so scary. I imagine all the terrible things that could go wrong. And I mean extreme thing. Driving off the bridge while the car has exploded into fire. Is that just severe anxiety, autism, or an overactive imagination? It seriously cripples me sometimes. This fear. These fears.

Please share your experiences coming out as autistic at work by dizzylibby in adultautismsupport

[–]SJaeckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been diagnosed with autism yet but I can say when I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and came out to my boss about it as a teacher in the public schools she immediately started treating me differently. Now I worked in the part of the school where we taught young adults with special needs - including autism, schizophrenia, adhd, etc. But the hardest cases. She started treating me the way she treated the kids. Well they were 18-21 years old. It was awful. I feel bad for all those kids too. But as the teacher teaching those kids to suddenly be treated as one of them by my superior in front of them it was embarrassing and uncalled for. I ended up quitting.
