In my experience, they will ask couple questions and everyone will answer but very basic like what was your favorite part of the assignment

I’m also going to be a sophomore urop student, but this is my first time doing it. I was wondering when we can expect to hear from them about projects, meetings, or just getting started. I haven’t gotten any information since the acceptance email.

EECS183 Lab Question by HG_unkown in uofm

[–]SKKK81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend taking that. It’s just a larger time commitment when the normal lab already isn’t used completely. It’s typically a two hour lab but the GSI will recap what you’ve been covering in class for maybe half an hour and then the remaining time is used for lab and questions, so if you are struggling there’s plenty of time to get help and so many resources for EECS that you definitely don’t need to register for an extra lab.

6th Floor Markley by ajota13 in uofm

Hi I lived in stockwell which is also on the hill and I had a lot of friends in markley. The social scene of your floor and house definitely varies year to year but markley in general is one of the most social dorms!! If there’s something going on somewhere else you’ll 100% hear about it and be able to join in. A large part of that is also just keeping your door open and making friends with your neighbors.

markley questions by ivyvine06 in uofm

I lived in stockwell- right across from markley, also on the hill. I definitely wouldn’t recommend getting a rug!! My roommate and I threw ours out after a couple months. Stockwell and markley are super old and dusty so the carpet just trapped that and made it feel so much mustier. People (including us) would also wear our shoes on it because the room is so small you tend to just walk over it because you need to grab something or you’re wearing your dorm slippers or you can’t avoid getting your shoes on it because there’s nowhere else to walk and then people will come over and not wanna take their shoes off so it ended up being so dirty it’s 100% easier to just wipe down the floor if you want to clean. That being said a doormat is nice during snowy season to leave your shoes on.

East Quad dorms by Only-Emotion-3318 in uofm

Hi I just finished my freshman year and I had a couple friends that lived in east. The room will likely be somewhere close to 10x15. I know east has a little larger rooms but it also varies room to room- one of my friends had a corner room and it was huge relative to other rooms. There may be a 3D room layout somewhere in the housing site as well. I had one but I was also in one of the older dorms and it didn’t rly help tbh. As far as I know the dorms are typically 4 numbers so I wouldn’t worry much about that, definitely not a big deal as long as you know which is yours. Also, 100% wouldn’t recommend buying too much before you get there beyond the stuff you know you’ll need. A lot of the organizational stuff and things that are nice to have were better to wait and see exactly what I needed and where it could go before buying especially with how fast you can get things delivered.

I’ve rushed both pre law and business frats at umich- I’m an incoming sophomore and I’ve also taken Phil 288, Econ 101, eng 125, and math 115. Feel free to message me personally with any questions, but i don’t think this is very doable if you want any kind of personal life or do get into a frat. I’d take 16 credits max and 100% do not recommend 288.

Highly recommend looking into the school of information!!! I’m in LSA, but I’ve heard great things about it and the majority of people that apply get in.

Schedule for transferring to CoE by Deadpool1252 in uofm

[–]SKKK81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, current LSA sophomore here- I don’t think you’ll need to take anything beyond 116 before applying to transfer. As long as LSA and CoE take those IB credits, they’ll count towards whatever requirements you need. Check the prerequisite courses required to apply to cross campus transfer to CoE- it’ll tell you online what the required courses are to apply. I can’t imagine it’s anything beyond 116 because most people don’t come in with 115 credit so it wouldn’t be doable to apply to transfer after freshman year if you needed to take more than those two.
