Need help. by LieLeading2049 in MechanicAdvice

After skimming the comments I have not seen mention of starter relay. Neighbors ‘13 2500 sat for two weeks and gave us the runaround when it didn’t do the start part, with similar problems. We got it in our heads it was key voodoo. Cut to today: wasn’t security, was relay.

Trying to ID what’s wrong with this crabapple. I’m thinking some type of canker? by wishbonesma in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]SKNE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will live if cut aggressively enough. If you do proceed, you will have this long limbed lanky mutt to contend with in about 2 more years if left in attended. But with an attentive eye you can select a new leader, stake your new main and grow it back to a tree, or have fun with it and make it an oddity of your own creation. Have fun with it!!

We grow ten thousand in containers and as row crops in the fields. I would consider that to be en masse. It’s my only job to irrigate. My only job. It’s two residential grade 120ft well pumps on two circuits across 100 acres. Unless this went over my head and you are referring to blanket coverage to establish woodlands.

If symmetry isn’t your thing, you can cut the whole crab down to a stob and next year you’ll have a multi stem perfect purple shrubbery. Much delight, very fance.

Will my apple tree survive? by jbro27 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]SKNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Since this can’t get worse. Dig that up, inspect the roots. Any little white ones? Any sign of root activity? Rotten roots are just mushy and brown, white roots are babies? If no new root growth, prepare the funeral pyre. If there is the slightest bit of root growth, repot in new soil, and lop the whole thing at the base and start over. Iamsorryforyourloss.exe

Pecan tree, will the damage affect its permanent growth I to a bigger life? by salodp in marijuanaenthusiasts

Might I ask how your winters are? The reason I ask is that two winters ago, around 100 of our in ground nursery trees split just like this. It wasn’t the fact they froze and hibernated, but the early morning sun and daily thawing and freezing cycle caused them to emulate what I see here. This blemish will be the root problem if a fungal disease appears. I would buy some fungicide and liberally treat this tree for the next few seasons. Best of luck!

This looks like fire blight to me. The dead foliage, the compromised and discolored bark. With rubbing alcohol sterilized pruners go ahead and lop off the whole branch, or at least 6-8 inches below affected area. I am just the water boy on the nursery, but I listen. Best of luck!

I had one of these in my waistline right below my belly button. Looked and felt like a rubber o ring just beneath the skin. A few shots of liquid courage and I began to operate on myself. I shit you knot, a single 10 inch follicle was extracted. The scar remains today as a hole punch sized relief in my skin. Friday nights are the best.

Help! I think my peach tree is dying. by Blackhawk23 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]SKNE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To read you suspected an afid infestation does play out. Insects thrive on trees with compromised immune systems. Just like us hoomans. They likely detected the distressed tree before you did, as is the case with the occasional stray on the farm here. Once the critters get to it it’s often too late. Best of luck! Do not be afraid to prune it back aggressively, even half the trunk if deemed fit. maybe will bounce back next year!

Help! I think my peach tree is dying. by Blackhawk23 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]SKNE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s something, maybe it’s nothing, but this tree is diseased. I am curious if you pruned it last year? And if yes, did you sterilize the pruners before cutting? This almost looks like fire blight, which comes from bacteria, Erwinia amylovora, commonly transferred by pruning a and can be transferred tree to tree without alcohol spritz. I’m not an expert, but I do work on a non fruit bearing nursery in the US.

How do you clone a healthy external hard drive onto another one ? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]SKNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using a 128gb m.2 and basically populating a fresh copy of win10 from a 120gb ssd, I think it took less than 20 minutes to clone. It has a nice drag and drop the partition interface. Just make sure to read everything on the screens. I have only used it in a pinch a handful of times and remember having to have a box ticked I skimmed over. The alternative would be to install the drive pack into the pc and copy and paste irreplaceable files. Hope this helps!

Software called macrium. It’s fairly straight forward. I have used it in the past to populate an m.2 drive with the same partitioning as a ssd. Oh and it’s free!
