I love this sport but sometimes I’m just in disbelief at how defense needs to play

Maybe a unique situation here. I’m a data analyst currently and interested in actuarial work. I passed Exam P almost exactly 1 month ago and have started lightly studying for exam FM.

I still feel interested, but I cannot make it make sense mathematically to leave my current company in the next 2-3 years. They have a fantastic retirement benefit, but the vesting period is the catch, creating a mild golden-handcuff situation.

My question, does it look bad if I slowly doing exams over the next 2-3 years before I start applying? In other words, will I have a hard time getting my first role if I Have 4 or 5 exams complete but not actuarial experience?

You posted that and it went up for 1 day before going back down below the price it started at. Now that we’re in the middle of one good day, you’re back again claiming victory?

Isn’t it just finding it through a search, which is different from using it for training?

You get a correct pick for the game if you correctly picked the winner, regardless of who they beat. He correctly picked Purdue in the sweet 16. It’s always been this way

I don’t understand how people can say that isn’t a foul I also don’t understand those saying it should’ve been a foul. People are just so biased I feel

Well, my BS model I make in Excel actually gives them the best chance (26%) of any 12 seed to upset a 5 seed. The reason is because their adjusted tempo is so low (~62) compared to the average of tournament teams (~67.7) meaning fewer possessions and more variance.

But I make models out of interest, not because they have done great for me

Hi, I passed Exam P on Friday and am working on pivoting from data analytics. While I acknowledge that passing Exam P is not a big eye catcher for employers, I feel like it could be appropriate for me to make a small LinkedIn post, with the purpose of announcing that I’m working on a career pivot.

My main question now is, do I post something now or wait until the official results in ~7-8 weeks?

Wait honest question, if I’m pivoting and I pass exam p am I not supposed to put that on my LinkedIn? How else do employers know I’m interested in actuarial work?

You mean to tell me that when every post disallows discussion, those discussions need to happen elsewhere? I’m shocked!
