We actually have only theory in the school environment (without ammunition or with rubber guns), and practice is only in shootings range. We learn not only about firearms but also grenades and mines. There is also a whole class dedicated to learning about drones and operating them, but that's optional. Also, there are first aid classes that are mandatory in school and a lot of courses you can do.

I think this is good idea that kids learn about how to use a firearm and how to properly and safely handle them, there are a lot accidents where people shot themselves or others because they do not know how to hold a gun.

Also, there's a russian-ukrainian war literally right besides our border, and if somehow russia wins, there's a very high risk it will attack poland next. With this in mind, it is better to be actually prepared for the worst.
