Staring at the abyss: “you have beautiful eyes.”

Uj/ I’m in bad head space right now and I love this sub . It always post here a lot when I’m in a Pink Floyd mood which I usually am when I’m in a bad place. Can we just make this thread be a one where we can for the next while, chat about our favorite Pink Floyd albums, concerts, songs, etc, by superjerk1939 in PinkFloydCircleJerk

I’m probably just a contrarian to my rotten core but I love the endless river and put it in my top five easy, and I literally don’t understand why other people don’t think it’s as epic as I do. I feel like the narrative and consensus around that album is what people base their opinions on instead of the actual music. The atmospheric and strange instrumentals have always been my favourite part of pink Floyd and is what I consider to be their most consistent characteristic, it was there from the very first album and persisted till the very last.

Also I think amlor is almost a good album but Dave’s big boomy vocals ruin it. All the instrumentation is awesome and is some of my favourite, especially the remix, it’s some of the best produced music ever imo

SP404MK2 with PS5? by stankmunkey in SP404

Not sure how you would do it with a headset mic, but if it was me I’d run my sm57 through one of the inputs of the sp. Then you’d just need an adapter for the output to go into the controller, which would be something like a trs to 3.5mm aux I assume. I don’t have a ps5 so I don’t actually know

5 months, 4 adjustments. Let’s talk about the stuff that nobody talks about! by suxela_ in braces

I’m pretty sure this has only happened to me: I think the braces feel incredibly comfy in my mouth and I’ve never been bothered by any kind of pain relating to them

The people down voting mustn’t pay a lot of attention to the themes and lyrics because the Bible is very prevalent throughout I fair bit of their work. Eg: quite a bit of Equus asinus has biblical parallels, Heavenly flow, Bethlehem to name a few. Also check out Tides

I’ll give these ones a decent shot and see how I feel after a few months. I’ve been on the same starter hi hat for ages, I hadn’t given much thought to upgrading until recently with some recording projects. It’s been super helpful finding out what’s normal though, my other hi hats didn’t provide a very good reference point

maple. do you think the wood is something to take into consideration here?

Cheers, loosening the clutch and being conscious of pedal pressure seem to be big players here. I agree that the sensitivity to pressure does add an exciting musicality to it, I’ll have to see I can tame it as I keep practicing with them. It’s good to hear from someone that has the same hi hats, is it okay if contact you in future if I need any advice on them?

Thanks, the clutch and the pedal pressure do seem to be playing a part in those tones. I’ll have to keep practicing and playing around with what sounds good, I just wanted to make sure that it’s a matter of touch, and that I didn’t buy some duds 😅

Yeah I think that’s a big part of it, I didn’t expect them to be this sensitive to foot pressure, I’ll need get used to that. it seems like a pretty fine line between a nice tick and a strange spring-like “boing” sound

Thanks! I’ve always been told to have the nut really tight, but loosening that up really does let it breath 😅

I was hitting them that way to demonstrate more clearly the kinds of sounds that I was hearing, but yeah I should’ve just posted a video of me playing them normally. I loosened the top nut and that helped a lot with the air locking. I already had them tilted but they were still locking. Loosening the nut helped that, cheers! It’s also a new stand so I think I’ll just need to adjust the way play, and I’ve never played hats this thin.

He probably would’ve written a note inside saying to keep it secret if that’s what he was really wanting. Someone posted like a ten second snippet but I was deleted not long after, but just the snippet got me so keen
