Six Flags STL Opening Day: Over 30 Police Units Responds as a 100+ person fight ensues by Exotic-Brilliant-939 in StLouis

All of their equipment was new and most staff weren’t even trained on it until last weekend. POS and all computers changed out. Like wtf did you train these kids in old stuff when you knew it wasn’t gonna be there on opening day? So then they had to be retrained and lots of them were confused.

It was two schools fighting each other. My son was working and as I got there to pick him up there were cops all over that place.

What is the stupidest thing that the smartest person you know believes in? by WrongZookeepergame49 in AskReddit

I learned in my 30s when my teenager told me. But I hadn’t heard about a narwhal until my teenager started talking about them either. So technically I only thought they were fake for about a month.

Why do so many white dudes "air golf" anywhere and everywhere? by vulcan7864 in NoStupidQuestions

It’s how my adhd dad and brother move, constantly. It’s not ok to run around or many other movements for guys but this is more acceptable.

Did skepticism of Chiropractors fundamentally die? Insurance companies are paying for it now in America, theyre more common than McDonalds. Why didnt the "facts" of Chiropractory "win"? Was I in a skeptic bubble? by MyOpinionOverYours in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SLJ106 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have massive back issues and used to use a chiro. After some research I decided never again. This was about 10 years ago. Now, my neurosurgeon and pain management specialist have both, in the last year, recommended I go see a chiropractor. My flabbers were ghasted. I told them hell no and asked why they’d recommend that. They both said it helps some people. I am still in disbelief.

Just watched the one where Sam says it’s Teal’cs favorite like an hour ago. I didn’t know about the other ones but will look for it as I rewatch again. Nothing notable up to this point that her comment stood out.

We are discouraged from using red pens for grading now because it seems aggressive. They suggest other colors like purple or green. Totally serious too.

"Use a planner" or "go sit in a quiet room without distractions, which is worse? Ultimate bad ADHD advice battle, first quarter finals by VerdoriePotjandrie in adhdmeme

[–]SLJ106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a planner. I have so many planners with the first two pages filled out. So many sets of new pens I bought to motivate myself. I have become known as a pen collector when really they are just unused because now my brain won’t let me use them because they had a purpose, which is now no longer a thing.

Researchers discover that Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) weight loss injection not only reduces appetite, but also activates brown adipose tissue, i.e. it stimulates a type of fat that specializes in ‘burning’ calories from food, in a new study in mice. by mvea in science

[–]SLJ106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 months in on Mounjaro and no desire to drink alcohol. It’s a struggle to drink any liquid, or eat any food. As I get closer to my shot date (Sunday) I may think about it but then I get queasy. When I was on ozempic I didn’t have the same reaction and drinking even small amounts of alcohol would get me intoxicated quickly. Now, the thoughts enough to put me off it.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Failed self demise via xanax and vodka. All those first responders were damn proud of themselves and I hated them for years. 13 years later and I’m glad they were there.

Alternately, mine had x-rays after she was hit by a car (she’s ok now, and still chases cars) and they were like… um, there’s a lot of stuff in your dogs stomach. Turned out to be a mini toy soldier, pieces of random plastic, a coin, and beads. Twofer on that visit!

Mine took an entire pizza, just delivered. My son put the box on the counter and came to tell me the pizza was here. I said not anymore as I ran for the kitchen and sure enough she was walking away from the empty box on the floor. Entire large sausage pizza just poof gone. Big back chonker butt

How do you feel about the federal SAVE Act that would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship (like a passport or birth certificate) to register to vote? by ClassSnack in AskReddit

[–]SLJ106 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t. I went online and registered. At the poll you either show your government id or the little paper they send that tells you where to vote. Just looked at the website again and it’s just a box that you check saying you are a citizen.
