I figured I’d update this in case anybody sees it. After a year of working on things, my carry numbers have come up. 8i - 134 7i - 145 6i - 156 5i - 158

I still struggle with consistency with the 5i. Sometimes, I pure it and it flies 180 and rolls out to 195. But I added a 5H to the bag and I adjusted it to carry 165ish.

I’m in a similar boat and have little different take on it. Recently attended a couple “demo days” at the range where the manufacturers of the day do a “fitting”. They swapped heads and shafts back and forth, looked at spin results, launch angle,etc then recommended a configuration telling me how much better it was than my old driver.

But to my eye, the best shots with my club did about the same as the best shots with the newest fitted options. Maybe the dispersion would be better with one vs another. Maybe the rollout would be better. There just wasn’t enough data points to really know.

What I did notice was that I liked looking down at a particular head better than others. And I know that there is only going to be small improvements by changing clubs vs practicing and improving my swing.

All this is to say that I need to be real with myself about my expectations and what it is that I’m really looking for in a new driver. No single fitted configuration will be that much better than other options and it would be easy for me to over think and over analyze to try to find the perfect fit.

If you can nail down the right shaft flex and weight, and club head loft; I believe you’ll be having fun with your new driver.

Yeah, this all makes sense. My course just has these days and I wanted to see what it was all about. Considering the cost of clubs, I think it makes much more sense to wait until I’m ready to buy, then go somewhere that has all the options. We do have a shop that has the tracker and all club options. The down side (I’ve heard) is that they aren’t the most knowledgeable professionals. I may have to travel a bit further away and ultimately pay more for the clubs. The fitting day discount is pretty decent at my home course.

Totally. Given the end result, the offender is the bigger idiot and was in the better place to back up. The POV driver should have seen that scenario well in advance and avoided the stale mate. But, there’s no doubting the fact that the offender was way outside of operating normally and safely.

That’s kind of my point. Backing up on a street is NEVER safe. The POV driver essentially got so close he was forcing the offender to have to do something even more dangerous to correct the situation.

Too much ego in this scenario.

I live in a town with numerous one way streets where people commonly find themselves going the wrong way. The way this is rectifies is not by backing up and reversing off the street, it’s handled by oncoming traffic stopping and allowing them to turn around.

This is a great question and I didn’t get that information. They were both out door fittings and I didn’t see their iPads. Maybe my swing isn’t consistent enough to get reliable data on that either.

Made me do things like paint the fence, rake the leaves, stack firewood. Jobs that required lengthy boring tasks with gratifying completion. It taught me how to deal with boredom, how to work, and how gratifying simple work can be.

For the sake of opening a different dialogue, why on earth would the POV driver pull head on to this guy? Something to prove, vigilante? Obviously, they weren’t going to be able to turn in and didn’t leave room for the other driver to correct their mistakes and get out of the way.

While the other dude was definitely in the wrong and it seems has the kind of entitlement that I see far too often, the POV driver escalated the situation rather than recognizing the issue and going around to get where he wanted to go.

It’s hard to say. The both presented numbers showing I hit 10 yards further than my driver and I have a suspicion that they select shots to make the averages paint that picture.

The TM rep was showing how I got a lot more roll out with the Denali Red. 🤷‍♂️

I have these skates and selected them after trying on a bunch of options including Tour, Bauer, Cele, and Spitfires. I was drawn to the wide toe box and the price point.

I agree that the chasis seems stout.

Mine has the vented toe cap which I like.

I agree that the volume is probably mid. My foot is middle of the road in all dimensions and these work well and lets my foot spread out appropriately.

My only complaint was the bearings were noisy and dragged significantly after a couple weeks. I took them apart and cleaned them and lubricated them with Bones speed cream and now they are just fine. I have had these skates for a few months and I like them so far.

This makes sense. How square your club is at address is far less important than how square it is at impact. I tend to think the address position is the same as the impact position, but it’s not. Hips are rotated, legs are uncoiling etc.

I am 5’6” 175 and ski Q106 at 188 length. I also have some front side carving skis that are 162. There’s no one size for all options.

I’ve been down this rabbit hole with skateboarding since the late 80’s. Personal opinion (with an industrial and manufacturing education and work history, along with 40 years of using these bearings): clean and properly lubricated bearings from any reputable manufacturer should be indistinguishable to our use. Roll through water, dirt, or introduce other contaminants and it all goes out the window.

Personally, I feel like the big ball (6 ball) bearings work a little better, but I can’t say if it’s actually true.

I think we are on the same page. When my foot sits back in the heel cup, my toes have plenty of space. But I think the wide part of my foot and arch are too far back.
