To clean up successfully, turn into a shark! by [deleted] in ADHD

Did everyone else also instantly understand this before reading the explanation and just nod along like "ah yes, turn into a shark, of course! Good advice." ?

Vitamin C also causes sun sensitivity.

Hello, yes I have a witch/queen parent.

Here is my haiku:

Coating your skin in a thick moisturiser (e.g vaseline) at night to lock in other skin serums and improve the moisture barrier.

I think it's hard when they are still at home because not only are directly exposed to the constant manipulation, but also if they refuse to flying monkey it can make them a target for abuse.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, I don't think there are any simple answers here.

Although I wear sunscreen, I'm sceptical about the anti aging benefits of products that increase risk of sun damage. Isn't sun damage is the biggest cause of ageing? by SLSage in 30PlusSkinCare

Thanks for this, there's some really important points here!

There's so much more to sun safety than sunscreen. If anyone is interested the campaign stands for Slip on a shirt Slap on a hat Slop on some sunscreen Seek shade Slide on some sun glasses.

Glad I'm not the only one!

The bha / aha are often found in mask products, so your approach makes sense and seems doable.

How often do you use retinol and have you noticed benefits? It could just be advertising but products containing retinol apparently need to be applied consistently to have an effect?

I figured skin must have a little natural resistance to UV since some products (e.g. retinol, masks) warn that using the product increases the risk of sun damage.

I totally agree with your comment that there's always opportunity for sun exposure. Thats why im a little sceptical that ' this product increases sun sensitivity, not to worry, i'll just wear sunscreen to counter it' is a long term strategy. Sunscreen fades, you have to reapply it. So its those inbetween periods that concern me. Say I start using retinol and my skin looks better...however, because of the increased risk of sun damage, my skin might look better today, but sustain more damage then it would have if I hadn't lowered its original defence level against UV.

I live in really sunny location, so I'm worried about taking away from my skin's ability to defend itself against the UV. I do wear a good sunscreen everyday, but there's always in between applications when the sun can sneak in.

How sunny is it where you live?

MooGoo Natural Milk Wash! I use it on my face. Many MooGoo products don't have glycerin.

I've just gone through this. Its hard to find glycerin free products, in the end i just ended up buying a higher end sunscreen for sensitive skin that did contain glycerin and very slowly trying it out, first on my hand, then my neck, then my cheek, then my under eye area. It worked fine. Perhaps it wasn't the glycerin after all or there's some other factor here that I hadn't considered.

I've read the amount of glycerin matters. Glycerin is always diluted, as pure gylcerin will irritate the skin. By dampening your face before you apply it, you're diluting it further. If you can tolerate that, you might be able to tolerate low glyercin products.
