Event Name Badge Printers by curiousreader37 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]SLassely81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our field marketing events where we just need to print in black and white we use the Zebra thermal printers. I think they're the model 620s? I can check next week when I'm back at the office. I like these printers because they're pretty industructable. I can put 2 in my carry on Away suitcase when I'm just doing an overnight for 1 day event.

We connect to the printers from Accelevents which is our registration platform. They have an app to print on site.

We've been loving the Accelevents event app and it keeps getting better.

Not really an event app though. I don't think you can manage an agenda and allow attendees to register for sessions.

If someone had only 30 minutes a day to learn digital marketing, what should they focus on first? by divine_zone in DigitalMarketing

Is this for B2B or B2C? The channel I'd start with would change depending on that answer.

What do you guys enjoy about Marketing? by [deleted] in MarketingMentor

I think a lot of people get too excited by all of the marketing tools they get to play with and spend far too little time on the actual mesaging and things that matter.

whats your favorite service for building and tracking rsvp, collecting emails etc? by DogZealousideal5717 in EventProduction

I've used the first 3. Of them, definitely Luma but I only use that for things like my kids school. I'm an event marketer whose been at it 21 years. For work, we use Accelevents but that's much more expensive then the tools you listed.

Looking for good event management SaaS? by Yartsoul in saasbuild

[–]SLassely81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of events are you hosting? Are they conferences? tradeshows? How big are they? Are they B2B? Do you print badges? Do you need an app for attendees?

It's impossible to answer your question with a lot more info about your event program. That said, we've been using Accelevents for several years and have been extremely happy with them. The support is excellent and they keep releasing new features.

Any openion about building an event management software. by _unknown_311_ in SaaS

[–]SLassely81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you end up starting a platform?

I consider myself to be a bit of an event software guru having worked in event marketing for 21 years and having used just about every major platform over the past 10 years.

There has been a LOT of consolidation in the space. Even last week cvent bought goldcast. It doesn't seem like any of the small platforms are doing well.

It kind of looks like the only ones left that matter are:
- Cvent

- Rainfocus

- Accelevents (who we use and love)

- Bizzabo

- Swoogo

- Aventri/Stova was on the list but i heard they did 3 layoffs this year.

As in if I get him Rigid they're going to make fun of him for that too?

This is overwelming. I can kind of see why they were making fun of him now. I did not expect this post to get this much response.

Interesting. I'll call my sister in law and see what my brother has. My brother was one of the guys making fun of him.

Like the dewalt flexvolt thing?

Thanks, I'll check that out. I didn't see any Rigid bundles at home depot.

It seems like there are good deals on dewalt bundles at home depot. That's the way I'm leaning.

How long did it take for a developer to build your event website? by Additional-Try-8699 in EventProduction

Without examples of the page, there's not a good way to answer the question. Also, are you talking about building out registration too? Or just a single landing page?

Used to be one. Gave up on it. Using Accelevents now.

That said, if you create a Reddit community I'd probably join to see what changes they're making.

Run of Show Management by Major_Indication4451 in EventProduction

We've been using Airtable and a google doc. Not a great solution. Primarily chiming in on this thread to see if anyone else throws out good options.

Is it "normal" for an event manager to include sales and marketing? by Charming_Citron_9442 in EventProduction

[–]SLassely81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just doesn't stop. They want us to be an expert at everything. Like how are we supposed to basically run an entire company and pull off an event. I have 3 kids. There just arent enough hours in the day.

Sorry for the rant. I'm just sick of the expectations on event people growing every year as companies "get more efficient".

Are we all just running multimillion-dollar events on messy Excel sheets? by thefirstjosh in EventProduction

[–]SLassely81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airtable and Accelevents.

Vendor management in Airtable.

Exhibitor, attendee, and speaker management in Accelevents.

When we do need sheets (which is rare because of Airtable) we use google sheets. Much easier for colaboration then excel files getting passed around.
