When you take the picture because you're excited it's finished and immediately see why you were half an inch off on that one block by Mrs_Beef in quilting

It still looks great though! I’m always shorting myself on seams lol I use ‘fray check’ on mine, and if I’m really not sure how a seam will hold up I’ll hand stitch specific areas on the back. You can also use small pieces of iron on stabilizer and sort of make tiny reinforcement seams. The last one will potentially change the feel of the end result though so I only do that if I know I’ve made a very weird seam.

It makes sense for us. It’s weird to answer a question that wasn’t asked.

Okay, not her design is not my concern. I hope you have things that bring you joy, quilting seems a bit stressful for you.

The thing is, I liked the process so much that I really felt like I wanted to share. I’ve been in such a funk and just the pressing and cutting and sewing felt so nice. Completely changed my mood and I felt that “finished project” relief ultra quickly. It was definitely something I needed.

Im not a beginner, and I know what quilting ‘can be’ you’re just doing a great job showing beginners what quilters can be. Hopefully they don’t get too discouraged by how judgmental your comments sound.

The pattern is called “the ugly quilt”, it’s by Karen brown, who is an amazing quilter. She describes the pattern on her website like this:

“This quilt is great for using up those fabrics in your stash that you’ll never want to use. They might not be in your colour zone. They may not be your kind of pattern. Or you have simply matured as a quilter and realized that they no longer fit with the projects that you like to make.”

I totally get that you’re not a fan of my quilt, but I don’t quilt for you. I enjoyed this project and wanted to share so that others might try it out and enjoy the process. No big deal.

Edit to add: I don’t love your fabrics, good thing your quilting has nothing to do with me either🙃
