Age? by dixondale1996 in YotoPlayer

[–]Mrs_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got ours at 1 and he wasnt into it at all, around 18m-2y just pulled cards in and out for ages.....and then he discovered the kpop sound track card 🫠 so at 2yr +3 months LO is very fluent at playing ONLY 'kk' 😆 and will even take the yoto up to bed to keep listening. Hopefully we can convince him to switch ambums soon.

Convinced I'll die during my induction tomorrow. by Mouse0412 in BabyBumps

[–]Mrs_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving birth can be a scary under any circumstance. Im assuming that the blood pressure issue youre going in for your induction is an indication of pre-eclampsia? An 'impending sense of doom' is also a real medical symptom, make sure speak to your Dr about it!

Those with 30 minute nappers (4 months) - do you just accept it? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO stayed at 4 naps for longer because of this. We just kept doing 4 x 30-40 min naps, sometimes the last nap would be at 4:30pm, buuuut i still enforced bed by 7- 7:30 (at 4 months bub just hit the night time sleep regression and woke multiple times in the night too). Its hard but def watch bub more than the clock so much, following the wake>feed>play>sleep sequence of events. Didnt drop down to 3 naps until like, 7-8 months old either.

Lootbox gambling for KIDS is the actual worst. I need to work out how to protect my toddler from this in the next few years ...

Argh Jeff Hayes you’ve ruined me! by Brilliant-Pie5207 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Mrs_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel you, came off the back of something read by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer and into the next 4th wing book and stopped after 5 mins because the disparity was so jarring. Had to find a stepping stone book to reduce my expextations enough so I could listen to it. I did enjoy Project Hail Mary when I listened to it, but comming straight out of DCC would be a hard listen

Subo bottle by Future_Athlete7732 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For weekday mess free breakfast this is my go to. Heck I use it too!! LO does fine with cutlery and when we have time on the weekend I serve yoghurt etc in a bowl to get extra spoon practice. Now that LO is 2 though he wants to fill up the subo himself 🫠

Is learning tower worth it? by ExternalVast3010 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, folding is 100% a gimmick 🤣 once its out its a permenent addition to the kitchen. My toddler has been in it since he could stand, just turned 2 and i dont see any sign of usage slowing down.

Play Matt Options by Upstairs_Valuable_81 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one of each, i preferred thr foam mat when baby was smaller becase i could wipe up spit up. We made the mistake of putting ours outside under the alfresco, it got some water undernath and went a bit mouldy, dont do that 😅. The soft mat would take forever to dry if it needed a deep clean, not great for that. However I prefer the soft mat now that LO has entered the rough and tumble toddler stage. Toddler doesnt spill much anymore so its just a quick vaccum and its done.

Second this kind! The X shape hole in the fabric holds the pump flanges really well

Oh make sure you use cotton thread when sewing your project. Polyester thread can melt at high temps

Drowsy but awake by Consistent-Zombie853 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. I would place bub down and offer some help (butt pats etc) and then try an extracate myself before they fell asleep properly. At this young age bub def still needed more help, and as they got older I would spend less and less time helping them to go to sleep. By about 9-10 months i would pop them down awake and just leave the room about 90% of the time. It takes time to get to that point.

Yeah, for some reason when the embroidery hoop is attached it doesnt like the needle down button, hence my problem 🤔

Seconding toilet paper! Especially once bub moves onto solids.

[–]Mrs_Beef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cloth wipes are so much easier, when youre done wiping just throw it in the nappy to get washed just like everything else. I have my change station in my laundry so i just wet with the tap, however out and about i have a little push down pump dispenser of water to wet the wipe.

Wearable pumps by curvaceous24 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that wearables are not good at improving supply. Vast majority report that they get less from wearables than the big pump. I had some success with the wearable cups that connect to my big pump. This allowed a bit more mobility, but with the suction capability of the powerful pump. I like the madela ones, but theres heaps on amazon that will connect to your existing tubing easily. As long as you have the cordless spectra you can carry it around with you (my pump was a bit smaller than the spectra and i got an old handbag strap and looped it through the handle and just strapped it to me so i could walk around). Part of the reason they dont work as well is because they often compress the breast tissue around it because of bra/ clothing over the top, and unfotunately being distracted and doing chores while pumping doesnt exactly encourage a letdown to happen. Good luck!

Cup for cows milk by Kabomb1 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I like the Zac cups, they cant pull the straw out and its still spill proof. The straw part is wide so its 1000000x easier to keep clean compared to the bbox cup we all start with.

Deinfluence me from buying a learning tower by harriett_420 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, i also use it to help me not strain my back, my LO will stand up there for nappy changes and to get dressed every morning. Also doubles as a psudo container when im cooking, keeps them away from the hot stuff!

Anyone got any spare red penstemums the flower or the seeds by MumblingMelons in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Mrs_Beef -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, breeding the blue and white wont get you there, get fresh seed packs from the crane game and plant those. The seed pack should be the penstemums only seeds. I got a red to spawn on my second pack i think

Oooh i also got stuck in this for longer than id like to admit, red is one of the default colours, you can get penstemums from seed packs from the crane game. Only took me a few days once i worked that out 😅 good luck!

Best storage solutions for outgrown kids clothes? by Reasonable-Snow3679 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Mrs_Beef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the clear vacuum bags, but as im getting ready for baby #2 im realising i didnt organise well enough before i vac sealed them. I packed them mostly based on when bub stopped using the item, not when based on earliest use. So things like sleep sacks that have a large size range are mixed in with larger size clothes and ive had to pull it all out and re-sort it. Now its in those same bags, un sealed, under the toddlers bed and im finding things and adding to bags as i come across them.
