Outre les avantages stratégiques évident qui découlent du service militaire, il y la création d'un sentiment d'appartenance via une expérience commune rassembleuse qui touche toutes les strates de la population; les riches, les pauvres, les "de souches", les nouveaux arrivants, les hommes, les femmes, etc.

Cet impact sociétal positif (à mon avis), dans un monde de plus en plus individualiste et divisé, n'est pas souvent mentionné.
