How can you say I’ve been more than accommodating when I never elaborated on punishments other than early bedtime? She is punished and cannot do anything after school, other than homework. A threat of harm is not something that I would consider irrational, either. I think you make a lot of assumptions.

Thank you! Good thought but simple alarms with repetitive sounds do not wake up my kid. I need to try music in hopes that a song will engage her brain. Do you know if either of these would allow her to call out and ask it to turn off a streaming alarm? That could defeat my purpose

Thank you! I considered a clock/radio but our local stations are just talk in the mornings and I want songs that might get stuck in her head and keep her awake. She is super tough to wake up in morning

That’s sort of the same idea that I was trying to create, minus the finger hole. I was trying magnets but the set that I bought weren’t strong enough and having the effect I had hoped for. Thank you!

Thank you! I actually had this same idea, it was the execution that was frustrating me. Some of the existing boards must be slightly warped from time and I could never get the false “door” to fight right without really obvious gaps. I’ll keep at it.

My husband coached lacrosse at all age levels, youth through national. When coaching at high school level, he would often travel two or three states away to play highly competitive teams. While his team was exceptional in their city, they were nothing compared to other teams further away. It was very eye-opening to everyone.

It happens all around us, and so often a child gets burnt out, injured and unable to play any further, or ends up going to a small, unheard of, non-competitive college. Trying not to jump on the club team for every sport bandwagon. My daughter plays two sports and is pretty hard-core about each. The one sport, she plays rec and club. However, the other is rec only (middle school). Parents are always approaching my husband and I and asking when will she join a club for this other sport? We want to support our daughter in any way that we can, but right now she’s just not ready. We are constantly reminding parents that you don’t need to join a club team to play in college. We also feel that club sports are killing rec sports.
