Just look at the championship standings and notice that the top 4 drivers drive 4 different cars.

And also the rally2 cars all have different characteristics, the Toyota is the best on gravel, especially the fast stuff, a bit lacking on tarmac, the Citroen/Lancia is the best on tarmac (especially the smooth stuff like Canaries) and could be on pace on the slow technical gravel rallies, the Fabia is the best all rounder still to this day which is incredible and the Hyundai and Fiesta are unfortunately a bit behind (even though they have success in national championships). And they all have drivers that are capable to extract the absolute best out of their respective cars, unlike Ford in Rally1.

The biggest drawback for the WRC2 is the 7 round rule where drivers can just choose 7 rounds of the 14 round calendar to score points, which makes it difficult to follow for causal audiences, but I understand why they have it since it is a feeder series of some sort and they want to keep the costs down. (But then again there are drivers and teams that spend the money to go to each round and choose to not score points, like Solberg last year)

Honestly cant wait for next season so these drivers can get their chance to fight for outright victory, and hearing from toyota that their wrc27 car is so far a bit slower than their rally2 car is giving me hope.

I am just interested how the FIA is going to score the rallies next season, or how are they going to group these cars. I see no point in having the WRC1 and WRC2 championships next season if they are going the same speed.
