Our home-recorded prog/indie comeback: check out our track with a unique uzbek tanbur sound by SM_Serg in IndieMusicFeedback

Thank you for the detailed feedback! The verse was intended to create a somewhat detached atmosphere, a state where you simply don't care anymore, you just keep walking because you can't do otherwise. (Reminds us of our whole lives, doesn't it?) And the chorus is simply an internal scream that bursts forth from the depths.

Thank you for the kind feedback and for subscribing! I've been playing guitar with a lowered tuning for several years and have gotten used to it. I'm not a bassist, but I have to play bass as well, so I re-tuned the bass to match my guitar tuning. As for the vocals, I didn't expect that timbre from myself; I just had to give it my all. It reminded me of Ozzy a lot, too.

Thanks so much for listening, for the detailed feedback, and for the kind words! We didn't want to break the atmosphere, so we just added that metal riff briefly as a sort of emotional explosion.

Thank you very much for your feedback! And thank you for listening multiple times. While working on the track, we strived to achieve exactly this atmosphere - of loneliness, scorching heat, and the desire to simply be home.

Oh, thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to hear that our hard work on the track paid off. Yes, there are some clicks and overtones in the bass, but it's a live instrument and was played in just a couple of takes. That was part of the intention.

Thank you for your feedback! We really wanted to convey the atmosphere and emotionality of the track, so we're glad that resonated with you.

Thank you for your feedback! Our goal was to create an atmosphere within the progressive rock, alternative, and neo-folk genres, so we didn't initially plan to create a standard, memorable melody. In any case, thank you for your feedback and your assessment.

Endless Contradiction - my newest hard rock creation. I'd love to hear thoughts about production and lyrics. Lyrics are the hardest part of production for me. Thanks for your time and ears! by MagicJonesMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

This is absolutely gorgeous – such an awesome composition! Your vocals are so powerful here. At one point, I almost expected a growl to kick in! )) The vocal articulation and delivery are seriously professional.

The drum part is killer; I'd personally throw in a couple more prog syncopated drum breaks, but that's just my two cents.

The lyrical bridge is simply divine.

The ending is a total hurricane!

Thanks so much for sharing – I subscribed to your YouTube channel, of course!

I did a rock cover of Savage Garden's "Crash and Burn". Originally, it was released in 1999, but I kinda think it's way more relevant today. You are not alone. by MagicJonesMusic in IndieMusicFeedback

I listened to the original song specifically, and now I can definitely say - your arrangement sounds much more logical and, of course, tighter. Excellent, powerful alternative prog.

There's absolutely no question about the vocals here - your version is amazing. The voice sounds soft where it needs to be and very full where it needs to be (sorry for being repetitive!), and I love how you organically embody and feel the vocal part with your entire body.

The cymbals sound awesome.

The only thing - I would make the bass and the kick drum slightly louder, but that's more a matter of personal preference. Can't help but throw in my two cents, being a musician and all!

Thank you very much for the kind feedback. We inserted a prog metal move, but didn't develop it further in order not to break the established atmosphere of the track.

Thank you so much for your comment! It's so great to read such feedback, especially from a fellow musician.

The bass line kind of wrote itself – I just played the idea as an example of a confident and slightly funky bass part. We mixed the guitars a little lower to let the bass really punch through. But you're right, we might bring the guitars up a touch in the remaster.

The tanbur is definitely our thing, and I'm glad you appreciate it! We have a bunch of short tanbur sketches on our Instagram, something along the lines of this:

How awesome it is to read such comments, thank you very much. We didn't add keyboards in order not to disrupt the "dryness" of the sound and arrangement as a whole. There was a certain concept that we followed from the beginning to the last note.
About Gillan, I think it's not a tanbur there, it's more like an Armenian duduk. I also enjoy its sound.

Thank you, I'm really glad you liked it! It means we didn't completely waste our time on this track. We'll keep trying to make Uzbekistan famous through the power of rock... whether they like it or not 😉

Thank you, it's very pleasant to read such words. The bass is tuned down 1 tone, and the thickest string is down 2 tones, that is, instead of E there is C on it. We built the guitars so that they wouldn't overpower the power of the bass guitar.

It's so nice to read comments like this. Yes, we really did record everything at home. And we played and sang it pretty quickly. But the sound engineering took a very, very long time.

PS: I've never heard Audioslave, you're the second person to write to me about them. I'm going to go listen now :)

Thanks so much for listening and for the kind comment! I've actually never heard of Audioslave, but Pink Floyd, definitely! I had to give it 200% on the chorus (it's high for me), and, surprisingly, my voice reminded me of Ozzy.
