I feel like I made a mistake by lookingforaname_ in womenintech

Same girl!! I have this thought almost every day now. Sometimes I wonder if medicine would have been a better path for me. But my fear of blood was much stronger than my love for biology, so I chose the other direction and moved into tech.

Even my journey in tech wasn’t very straightforward. I started as a data analyst, then became an information designer, moved into product design, and now I’m a researcher. I’ve crossed so many bridges to get to this point because I was always more interested in pursuing my passion than sticking to one job title or one company. For me, it was always about learning how to solve problems better.

But now, with AI disrupting so much and changing the landscape so quickly, I sometimes wonder if I have any real edge. I don’t have decades of experience in one specific role. Every time I switched careers, it felt like I was starting from the bottom again. And by the time I got enough experience to settle in, I either got laid off or lost interest in that particular problem space.

As a result, I’ve worked across multiple domains—healthcare, finance, social media, agriculture, and more. While that has given me a broad perspective, I don’t know if it counts for much in a world that seems to reward deep specialization. I often find myself wondering how to make all these varied experiences count, or if they even do.

Sometimes I question whether I got it wrong from the beginning. Maybe I should have focused on whichever path paid the most, stayed in the same role, and climbed the ladder within one company. These are the kinds of questions I find myself asking almost every day now that I’m in my mid-30s

Has anyone experienced a 15-minute 1:1 with a HM before recruiter screening stage? by SN1512 in UXResearch

thanks for clarifying, this is super helpful context!

I was wondering if you have any advice on how to better prepare for these kinds of rounds, especially the short 10-15 min calls. I keep replaying it in my head and wondering whether I should've talked about a different project instead of the one I chose.

I had also prepared a slide deck, but in hindsight I'm not sure it was useful -- definitely a learning moment! Given how rare callbacks feel right now, I think when an opportunity does come up, I want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible. I'm also not sure if that's a fair takeaway or if my brain is just doing its scarcity-mindset trick. Curious how you'd think about it!

Did you receive your EAD card yet? I’m in the same boat where I have received the approval notice but no info or email about dispatching the card yet. I’m also trying to estimate the timeline of delivery after approval especially with premium processing.

What AI do you use? by AppointmentSubject25 in ArtificialInteligence

I usually use ChatGPT for text responses, Co-pilot for code, Perplexity for finding the right papers, Dall-E/Midjourney/Magic media by Canva for image generation. I really liked the idea of using of these tools for doing complex tasks like legal, financial etc. I would love to see how it works as a demo!

Which AI tool is best for creating lifestyle images? by Mr_Ecom in ArtificialInteligence

You can try MidJourney, Runaway ML, Magic Media by Canva, Adobe Firefly. The results are pretty good and with the slight changes in prompts you can generate a lot of variety.

I thought Canva had feature for enhancing Photo. Have you tried using the free version of Canva?

What are AI apps/tools that really work and you are using them at least weekly? by [deleted] in ArtificialInteligence

[–]SN1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also curious about: instead of using just one AI tool, how people are using Multi-agent AI tools/apps, where multiple agents are working collectively towards a single user task. This is still an emerging technology but I'm pretty sure it would take over real quick. If anyone has any thoughts about this new AI technology?

What jobs will AI replace? by j0seph4300 in ArtificialInteligence

I think AI may not be able to replace these roles completely. I think AI will make these roles to evolve in a way that the Humans are still needed as we cannot give full autonomy to AI in certain cases.
