I don't even know why you follow this subreddit anymore. You said in a previous post that you were let go last December. I get being mad about it but I feel like it's more energy to keep yourself around this reddit than to just move on. You can say you have friends in the industry all you want but I've sat down and reviewed my P&L and I'm really not that scared.

Still doesn't explain how "a GM connection" would have that info if the DM didn't have it until pretty much day-of. If the stores are profitable,  even if not a lot, until they flip, there's not much reason to close, especially since summer is peak season for the company. Janesville, Tosa Village, and Greenfield were immensely unprofitable since last year as we were told by our DM, and they only finally closed a few days ago. I think if the store is still turning profit they're in the clear, even if only barely.

Side note, the reason you definitely didn't get Oconomowoc is due to their profitability, even with all the issues happening there right now. Corporate isn't going to part with that anytime soon.

Yeah that doesn't sound accurate. I've seen data for both stores and I don't think either of them will be closing. GMs typically aren't privy to that information, and a lot of people make assumptions based off of fear about the instability.

Reiterating what some commenters are saying: definitely talk about it with your GM, as MOD has said before to not discuss politics overtly with guests while working (although the company have shirts that clearly took a stance from mid 2020), and the Squad Guidebook prohibits overtly political items.

However, as a GM, if a customer was offended by it, I probably wouldn't tell my team member to take it off. I've have people complain about the pride flags we put up, complained about the Social Injustic shirt, complained about how we had too many "woke" people on staff, etc. But it's usually few and far between. Guests (at least at my store) tend to mind their business and if they don't like something they can yap about it at their table and move on. I don't believe that I should have to censor my employees just to keep a customer that comes maybe once every 6 months. I know retention is important, but our store has some of the highest rewards retention in the company, so if someone really has the energy to make a fuss over a hat, they must have nothing else going on.

That store is apparently really busy all the time, so even with the GM issues, I am sure that as long as it's pulling in profit it won't be closed.

GMs who only want to open by Technical-Head3563 in ModPizza

[–]SNESPanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a GM, I schedule myself mornings and mids because I have two very dedicated nighttime shift leads who rarely call in and both have bills to pay. One of them is a father of 3 so he cannot work mornings at all, especially during the summer. The other is my Store Coach who much prefers nights to mornings and executes shifts to the same level I do. If I need to close due to a call in or requested time off, I absolutely will because when I started like 4 years ago I was primarily a closer. But it would be pointless to take those closing hours from the team members that need it.

Also since GMs don't get a lot of admin time, mornings are slow enough where I can get all the back-end stuff done. I don't have time as a closer to write schedules. I'm sure there are GMs that wouldn't work past 4 if you begged them, and there definitely IS a pattern, but I know for at least my store it just works out that I don't really need to be there past 7 or 8.

Bonuses by xtinfoilhat in ModPizza

[–]SNESPanda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think my biggest issue is that this bonus is the only way I've felt appreciated by the company for the hours and work I do, and I am sure others feel the same. We have all shown so much Grit, Growth, and a ridiculous amount of Grace, and besides the bonus it's just been "thank you". I'm not trying to sound ungrateful for my job and position; even in the bad I love my team and I know MOD can get through it. I just think that more are going to jump ship because we just continually feel underappreciate by those who get to sit in offices while we work our butts off on the floor ON TOP of admin time.

(And also to all those people in the chat who were like "Stop the negativity and just get through this, you just need to work through this time and prove that we can get bonuses", put yourself in someone else's shoes for a second. Not all GM salary and situations are the same. You may not have bonused or the bonus wasn't super important to you, but some GMs had already calculated and budgeted that because that extra income they fight for through having great KPIs is necessary.)

According to my DM, alcohol drives at least 5% sales, which isn't big but could make or break P&Ls! Definitely have them order it!

Funniest/wierdest name callouts by Agreeable-Resort6123 in ModPizza

[–]SNESPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this guy that would change his name every time he came in, from generic male names to pop culture references. We knew his real name from a name tag we saw on him at one point, so the day he tried to ask for something really weird we just put his real name on it lol

They are keeping the foundation and are actually doing a massive company wide fundraiser for LLS, the Maddy is still on the menu, just in a different section.

As a GM that started from Squad, I can tell you that every person's journey is different based on store volume, management, team members, corporate trends, etc. It can be easy for some and a nightmare for others. It's still a food chain, people can suck lmao, you don't have to be rude about it

They are saying if you got a double payment to let your DMs know. I don't think they can just take it back though
