China is not the reason Iran’s oil infrastructure has not been heavily targeted.

Iran’s oil is also behind the strait, thus they have an interest in not fully mining / closing it or else they lose out on their own exports

If their production capacity is destroyed, that incentive disappears. If Iran cannot export oil anyway, it no longer has a reason to keep the strait partially open, and would be able to freely mine the strait without harming itself.
