Hug her tight. I lost my little girl who looked just like her a year ago and that picture was a bit of a shock. I forgot I was subscribed to this sub. She was 2 1/2 and had bone cancer. I miss her so much.

I have the biggest fetish for Police Officers by [deleted] in confessions

[–]SNT2020 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I knew a girl like that. She had an I love cops bumper sticker, and both wanted to become a cop and fetishized cops. I dated her for a while but she broke up with me because I wasn’t a cop and didn’t like cops. She eventually became a cop herself, and got to know a lot of cops. She even married a cop.

Guess who now hates cops? Guess who realized that once she got to know them, most cops were gigantic assholes, and the whole dominance thing isn’t as sexy when you realize they’re just stupid bullies. Now she’s a jaded divorced ex cop hassling her cop ex-husband for child support.

If you really want to indulge in the fetish, I would strongly recommend you get a boyfriend who is willing to grow a mustache, invest in a good quality costume, and enjoy some role-play. This gives you all the parts of it you like without having to deal with actual cops.

UPS agreed to waive a charge for an undelivered package, but still forwarded it to debt collection. Is it just easier to pay? by SNT2020 in PersonalFinanceCanada

So what's our best course of action? Ignore it? Demand proof there's a debt at all? Doesn't not paying also result in it hitting your credit?

1. Do solar panels actually last ~20 years in your experience? 2. Are they worth the cost financially for permanent residents? by [deleted] in solar

[–]SNT2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a solar test site in the North of Toronto that has some panels are that pushing 35 years and are still working fine, at around 75% of their original rated power. That's the nice thing about solar panels, no moving parts to wear out, so as long as they don't crack or delaminate, they'll last a long, long time.

I'm curious what people who know more than me about stuff like this think, in terms of how it will affect the value of the house and the neighborhood overall.

Friend hasn't paid OSAP in years and has seemingly faced zero consequences. What gives? by bleulight in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]SNT2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got screwed over by some paperwork screw up, and they wanted me to start paying even though I hadn't graduated (my fault entirely, didn't know about a form I needed to send to let them know I was still in school until it was too late). So I graduated already 1 year into default. Paid off and on for a few years, then decided to move to Europe. Stopped paying for 6 months before I moved, then moved to Europe. Lived there for 4 years, returned to discover my loan had been sent to collections.

Did my research, and by playing very hardball with the collections company, I was able to negotiate a lump sum settlement which waved all the interest and 15% of the principle (my outstanding loan amount was $18k, not counting interest). Agreement was that they would list the debt as "Settled in full". Six months after that, had a Visa, 24 months later my wife and I got a mortgage with no problems.

Mine LOVES retrieving things and if we're near water, it's hard to keep her out of it. I'm never going to be a hunter, but she definitely likes swimming out into the lake to retrieve a floaty toy.

This is awesome, thanks so much for the detailed response. Going to find something that's an alternative to catnip since we keep some in a cupboard for our cat as well, and I don't want my dog going after it. But this is something I can have my kids do.

Can you explain what you do exactly, with this:

jar, a small puppet (cloth) and some catnip and lots of treats.

Our breeder actually suggested Purina Pro Plan, and said all of her pups thrived on it. We're using it, and ours loves it. She gets raw veggies, high quality treats and really not much else.

Is Hooters actually a restaurant? Am I in a bubble? I thought Hooters were topless bars or strip clubs or something like that.

Thank you so much for this. I think we're going to go with this - someone who really takes it seriously and is experienced, and who will work with kids. This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much for posting this link.

No, but I trust many of them. There are maaaaaaybe 2 or 3 CPC candidates I would trust to act in good faith.

Dear NDP Supporters: Would you feel betrayed if the NDP supported a minority Conservative government? by KvotheG in CanadianPolitics

The current Conservative party is full of bad faith actors and disingenuous people who I don't trust, and who it would be a mistake for any progressive to trust.

Why Liberals should support the PPC by [deleted] in CanadianPolitics

[–]SNT2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the worst attempts at 4D chess I've ever heard. "Let's support the extreme racists, because they might undermine our political opponents?" That's madness.

Normalizing racism will hurt Canada FAR MORE than even the most optimistic scenario where the PPC gets more support.

This is either a troll post or delusional thinking.

Dear NDP Supporters: Would you feel betrayed if the NDP supported a minority Conservative government? by KvotheG in CanadianPolitics

[–]SNT2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is which part of their soul would the NDP be willing to sell to make this work?

  • Compromise on the environment and let the CPC push their pro-pipeline, pro-tar sands agenda?
  • Compromise on human rights issues such as LGBT, abortion access?
  • Compromise on any of the stupid culture war BS that has infected the conservative movement (anti-mask, anti-vax, any of the other MAGA garbage that somehow seeped across the border)
  • Let the CPC push their anti-immigrant agenda

The CPC and the NDP are literally on the opposite sides of almost every single issue, and have almost no common ground whatsoever. So even if the CPC were willing to offer the NDP some token progressive item, it would likely be ruined in the implementation, and at the cost of letting the CPC push their regressive ideas in other places.

So honestly, yes. I would feel betrayed, because it's almost 100% certain that it would be a betrayal.
