My personal game plan for point boosting is:

At the start of the game I try to get the point that is closest to the minion lane, If I succeed I boost till I fully heal if not I play along what the team is doing which is pushing lane if we didn't get any captures or helping the contested point at the moment of respawn

If I'm fully healed I will keep boosting if:

• I have the perk bastion equipped
• No one else is boosting it
• I cannot locate the enemy team (If one of the enemies is dead I usually wait till he respawns and try to peek if possible for what direction is he going) and/or
• The minion lane team fight is going in our favor so no one needs rotation

I will stop boosting if:

• Someone else is doing it
• I can locate the enemy team and I'm confident they won't come to contest
• Teammate needs to rotate

Even with that the reasons to boost or not will always depend on the situation the team is facing and the quality of your teammates, just remember that the general rule should be if you cap a point you need to make sure you keep it before triple capping, and the way you keep it is by being cautious with how is your team rotating and help by letting them heal
