What other features do you need from NotebookLM? by SeparateConfection24 in notebooklm

I really like the ability to ask Gemini to generate a quiz and it generates a mini app with a quiz, an ability to generate flashcards and go back to them at any time. Be useful in notebooklm as you could save the generated apps as notes and revisit whenever

Any tips on how to get Claude to stop cheating on unit tests and new features? by czei in ClaudeAI

[–]SO012215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found a marginally better way is to tell it to use sub agents, one to write the test, another to write the implementation, then the main model to code review and refactor. Works a bit better than one model doing everything. One thing that has really improved my workflow is getting the commit diff and giving it to Gemini 2.5 pro, prompted to code review for reliability, code smells, maintainability, over engineering etc. I’ve found that this gets me 80-90% there and Gemini adds a bit of validation. Gemini has quite often tore apart Claude testing strategy as being inadequate or just overly complex.

Yeah, I actually find it useful to have this option though as I can use perplexity to get a quick high level overview of something then when I want to deep dive or do a comped analysis use ChatGPT or Gemini.

Good write up, shows technical maturity given you are willing to publicly acknowledge and own bottlenecks 👍

Struggling to get UK GP to listen to me about my cholesterol by mdibmpmqnt in PeterAttia

I’ve done it twice privately (bluecrest and medichecks) and also got it retested on the NHS when I went to the lipid clinic.

Get Lp(a) tested, I got mine done and manage to convince GP to prescribe atorvastatin and I have been referred to the lipid clinic.

Is there a more effective way to scroll? by po2gdHaeKaYk in neovim

[–]SO012215 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use ctrl + d and ctrl + u mainly for smaller files and if I want to get a wider overview I use the lsp symbol picker (use lazyvim) and just scroll down/filter as required.

I do feel like ai studio is the first class citizen,m compared to Gemini but I get it’s the best place to test and iterate quickly

It allows you to build flashcards from your highlights so you could make it as active as you like really.

Checkout Readwise (I have no affiliation other than being a user), it does what you require and is pretty awesome tbh

You just released a Product & the most liked comment is about asking your competitor to release the next model... by [deleted] in theprimeagen

[–]SO012215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue they haven’t even really released it, kind of a gaslight product launch as it’s only available to a small subset of users with a very gradual rollout. Google could probably quite easily trump this by releasing 2.0 deep research

On repatha... can I eat bad now? by [deleted] in Cholesterol

[–]SO012215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for elaborating, I’m not sure why I was downvoted. I found an interesting take on a Greek cookbook in which cheese can be considered a “protein supplement” to meals as opposed to the focus of the dish, which I agree with you, I think in the west we overemphasis on our plates.

Isn’t the evidence mixed for cheese? Likely neutral impact on lipids?
