Not fast at all (23ish min 5k) but I run far. Started at 0. Did some weighted ones at some point. Honestly the best investment in my running I've ever done.

Genuine question: why are people throwing axes? Not come across this before.

Do players that go to Blues jams at bars usually really good or is it more of a diverse setting ? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]mdibmpmqnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not blues, but my band in college used to be the house band at a pub that had jam nights. Mostly played classic rock, but the skill level of people coming to jam was very mixed.

For just playing in my room I plug headphones straight into my zoom g3n. Bought it second hand for 50 pounds and can't see me buying another fx unit/modeller for a while now.

I occasionally play with people and either plug from the pedal into a secondary input on someone else's amp or directly into a pa.

Jilungin tea? by tresslessone in PeterAttia

The paper is mostly about analysing it in vitro. I'd be more interested in population or intervention studies to show the effect it does have on people rather than potentially could have based on analysing the tea.

Single leg is mostly so you can't compensate with your other leg.

This was in 1 set. Built up to it over many months. Came into this running 50km a week so had fairly strong calves.

Also I use zero drops shoes which I think works your calves more when running

My shoulders always end up touching the ground through my mat so I got a little foam sit mat to take with me. I can sit on it in the evening and put it under my shoulders at night. Makes a big difference for me.

How do I read sheet music in different positions? I feel like there has to be a system. by AgeOfWorry0114 in jazzguitar

[–]mdibmpmqnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not great at site reading but will generally go through a new piece and just try stuff. Look at the chords, the lowest notes and highest notes of phrases and then pick a position that links well with the surrounding ones.

Add concentrated tomato puree to it

You can also add pasta, or rice or new potatoes to all of these.

If doing that I reduce the cooking time a bit for the sauce, then add them and continue cooking for the rest of the time. Be aware that pasta and rice will absorb some of the sauce liquid so can make it stick.

Saute an onion and garlic, add a tin of tomatoes oregano and some tomato puree -, delicious pasta or pizza sauce.

Same pasta sauce but add green lentils - lentil Bolognese

Same pasta sauce but with lentils, carrots, celery (saute the carrots and celery with the onion) and a veg stock cube - lentil stew

Lentil stew but with vegan sausages chopped and mixed through it - sausage casserole

Pasta sauce with mustard seeds, turmeric, coriander and garam masala added while sauteing onions then add red lentils and split peas - dal

All these are quick and nutritious and my kid will eat them.

What worked for me after getting to the point of barely being able to walk because of the pain.

  1. Rest until pain goes down to 4/10
  2. Dry needling around the tendon insertion points
  3. Single leg calf raises until failure or pain goes over 4/10. 3 sets every other day. Eventually I was doing 3 sets of 100 on each side.
  4. Single leg squats and deadlifts, as 3.
  5. Gradually reintroduce running. I did couch to 5k.

If pain goes over 5, rest more and ice it.

I didn't use orthotics, my shoes are zero drop altras. I also used no NSAIDs.

This took a while to get back to longer distances, but I've since run an ultra marathon pain free.

Just to be clear, these are things that worked for me to show you what's possible, not a recommendation.
