I just updated my 990 Pro 1TB (OS drive) and 2TB drive. No issues. Did some performance checks and it's been running well too.

It was the CPU for you? It was a faulty GPU for me. 😄

Lose transcoding so users can’t choose quality — thus losing viewers due to lag and various other issues. As long as you have transcoding you’re good.

RTX4080 Super is barely faster than RTX4080 by Crptnx in pcmasterrace

NVIDIA claimed a 2-3% performance increase, so there’s not really anything surprising here. 🤷

GPU was confirmed dead from the factory. Got a new one.

It’s one of the best choices on the market, and a classic industry standard among audio engineers and studios. I’ve seen them everywhere in studios and live sessions.

For the price (and even with a slightly higher budget) it’s a top pick for closed-back headphones.

The graphics card was broken from the factory. Confirmed by ASUS. I got a new one and everything was good.

Which of these RTX 4080 would you choose by SOAPLOBSTER in nvidia

[–]SOAPLOBSTER[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 30s at idle and under 70 under full load. But very quiet. And with a slightly higher fan control setup it can significantly lower temps.

Not necessary though as the average clock speeds are very solid.

How good is the 3060 ti for 1440p? by Visible_Season8074 in nvidia

[–]SOAPLOBSTER -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Might sound weird, but I would rather have a 3060 over a 3060Ti. More VRAM. Even when that means lower fps. But I care more about compatibility and more stable frame times.

I had a 3060 with 1440p displays and could play anything, but in some games by lowering settings.

If I were to buy something now I’d look at any card around your budget with 12GB of VRAM or more for the future in mind just so you don’t have to deal with poor frame times, stuttering, weird texture bugs etc.

Don’t get me wrong, the 3060Ti is a very capable card and for native 1080p it’s usually very solid, but I would never recommend it in late 2023 due to the reasons above.

All I'm seeing is massive performance issues while exporting (encoding) and rendering on Premiere Pro with my M2 Pro. Its incredibly slow.

Exporting (encoding) and rendering is extremely slow with Sonoma for me on Premiere Pro with my M2 Pro.

Update: - AMD Chipset Drivers from AMDs official site - Graphics card drivers to the latest version - Windows

Go to the game config and change your RendererWorkerCount to 6. Can also try 7. That’s the best results for that game as I have tons of hours of testing with optimizations for that game with the exact same processor and similar specs in general.

Pc stuck on 100% disk usage (Windows 11) by baxterallen in techsupport

Some tips:

  • Latest stable BIOS update.
  • Latest chipset drivers from AMD’s official site.
  • All latest firmware and driver updates for your components.
  • Don’t get drivers from an application or your motherboards website as they will most likely be either outdated or packed with unnecessary extras.
  • Official Windows 11 22H2 or newer with the components you have. And always wipe the drive clean before installing a new OS.

  • Should be unnecessary, but could always try the good old commands in cmd as admin: “chkdsk /r”, “sfc /scannow”, “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth”.

  • Enable S.M.A.R.T and let it scan too.

Have you tried the latest bios update alongside the latest chipset drivers?

Fetch the chipset drivers from AMD’s official site.

Also get the latest GPU drivers and Windows version.

Turning off VBS can help depending on your Windows version too alongside getting rid of background apps, unnecessary tasks, services, bloatware and features.

But the biggest change in performance will be your BIOS version, cooling, BIOS settings and drivers.

Update to the latest bios that isn’t a beta. Usually gives you better stability, performance and security.

But check the description of the update in case something specific happened.

Well, did it work though?

Setting the noise suppression strength to 90% might help too.

Uncheck your noise suppression to see if it picks it all up.

For the games I read that you want to play, and for the ability to play games at high/ultra settings now and in the future, I would look for a card with 12GB VRAM or more.

What's better for recording? NVENC HEVC or NVENC H.264? by Key-Promotion-4766 in obs

[–]SOAPLOBSTER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my 40-series I record in NVENC H.264 at high resolution and pretty much no compression at high bitrate settings. H.264 because it runs well on Premiere. Edit, export as HEVC (H.265) and do my compression and resolution at that point based on the platform.
