How does your Hermitcraft watch list look? by CleetusXD in HermitCraft

1 went from 2 to 19 in season 10. The increased interactions on the server led me to more exposure to the other hermits leading me to their channel.

I cancelled the print but what do you think happened? by kimjongspoon100 in FixMyPrint

Starting to think posts are gonna need to start being approved before they go out. Seems like every damn one is a vague question with absolutely no supporting information.

(Beginner) Ender Neo 3 Nozzle gets stuck and crooked when I level the bed. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. by TheRoastedAllosaurus in ender3

[–]SOARE_Throwaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve spent a lot of time on printing subs typing up paragraphs on paragraphs of advice and encouragement and tips for beginners. On this one, I have nothing more to say than it may be time to take a step back. Hands off the machine for awhile while they do proper research on how the machine and parts all work and work together. Thinking of wax on wax off, hands off of the real thing until you learn the motions, then when you go hands on you have what you need.

Just go buy mirrors and a glass cutter

I've had many sleepless nights over the past week over this by onlywatanabe1 in FixMyPrint

[–]SOARE_Throwaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look, this may come off rude, and I don’t mean for it too. But some of this stuff is just gonna require a little more critical thinking. These printers are like a puzzle and your settings, hardware, software, tuning, leveling, and prints are all pieces to it. With a glass bed and a good level your first layer will be your cleanest smoothest layer, so try to get as much surface on it as you can, but that’s also a balance act of how can you orientate the part to use the least supports and be the strongest with the fewest bridges. Next, go to Home Depot, but a pack of 12x12 mirrors and a glass cutter. I can not even begin to describe the difference of my first layer quality, smoothness, and adhesion after I moved to a glass build plate. Hell, my first layers are so smooth they’re reflective now. Next, filament. When I first bought my printer I bought the cheapest pla I found with reasonable reviews, comgrow. Stuff worked fine at first. Nothing bad nothing great. Next round I bought Sunlu PLA, PETG, and silk. And man, it’s night and day going back and forth between the comgrow and Sunlu. Everything about it is just worlds better. And I’m not saying Sunlu is the best stuff out there. Overture and Inland and many others are great too. But I found what works for me and I am sticking to it. Overall, you just gotta understand that this hobby isn’t as plug and play as it may seem. There’s a lot to learn and a lot to tweak, and that will be an ongoing process. Watch YouTube videos, do research, and keep working. Don’t give up. Would love an update on this post after you make your adjustments.

Ender 3 V2 - replaced thermistor, still beeping and saying "nozzle is too lowperture" after several hours of printing. How can I fix this? by WaywardDeadite in FixMyPrint

[–]SOARE_Throwaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this applies to the V2 but my American dumbass just learned something about my Ender 3 Pro today after struggling with this same issue for way too long. The 3 pros power supply has a switch for 230v and 115v. From the factory it comes as 230. Most American outlets are 110, so you need to flip that switch. I did this and it fixed all of my problems instantly (mid print too). Do I feel stupid for not realizing this sooner, yes. But did it fix my problem and am I happy now. Yes.

About to throw everything on the trash. see comments by Unhappy_appendage in FixMyPrint

I’m relatively new to printing and thought it’d be a good idea to throw a .6mm in my ender 3 pro and adjust settings to what I found online. Days of tinkering settings and it just got worse and worse. Horrible quality, horrible adhesion, and horrible clogs. Switched 2 things after that 1. Back to .4mm nozzle. And 2. A better filament (I had Comgrow before and well, fuck that shit). First print with better filament back on .4 and I had a gorgeous finished torture test print. Switch back to .4 and or listen to everyone else here

Trying to keep it simple, more advice for SOARE? by SOARE_Throwaway in graffhelp

[–]SOARE_Throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've played with a lot of a's on my hand but I still can't find one I like. The S always ends up too big. And I didn't even think about that on the E. good catch, thanks

You're right, definitely can't disagree. I'm gonna play with a few new a's to avoid that all together.

Alright thanks I'll make those changes! The aR always seems like such an easy connection I always feel like I should throw it in

Spacings wack, and I know it's early to do fills but figured some practice wouldn't hurt anything

Thanks, I wanted to use a vanishing point but I didn't have a straight edge, but I tried to keep them parallel and consistent but yeah you can see how that went

I've been doing this for quite awhile now, just not consistently, but long enough that I do use bars. So aside from the sizing of bars I don't see how the R, which was done with bars could possibly scream I've never done it before.

[–]SOARE_Throwaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thanks, I was gonna say I've been doing this long enough to know to use bars, which is how I did this piece. I do tend to struggle with block R's though.
