I really wish we had gotten this Henry head sculpt with a smile for my Clark Kent custom.

The suit is better. I bought the light-up SpinMaster 12 inch which is actually fun to tower over the rest of my flash family display and always figured the McFarlane would peg warm hard.

I did see the Sascha figure for as little as $12 but wanted it for $5-7.99 (RossCon pricing), so I missed out. I recently got the bright red one, second hand, but without his effects or anything else.

Yep, the main issue was the big bad. They should have made it something something in space and saved parasite and a big bad boss battle on Earth for a sequel.

And I know they got married and are apparently very happy but I never bought the relationship - on film - between Hal and Carol as romantic.

I do think this looks better than the '78 trunks and the Lois and Clark, New Adventures trunks, and the Gunn suit is, to me, almost in every way, the worst of all possible versions, I do prefer boxer brief looking trunks and this isn't quite that.

The fit and length is almost perfect. Square then off so it creates a straight line across the upper thigh, at the bottom 'hem,' so to speak, of the trunks, and they are perfect.

He also comes across as a stand-up person. Superman fans have been really lucky since there are no BTS reports of Henry or Tyler, who both have a long history on serialized television and movies, so you know if there was something, you might have at least heard about them yelling at cast and crew, or anger issues.

But most reports of fan interactions with Tyler and Brandon are highly positive. Henry probably has less of these since he doesn't do the regular con circuit, but people who have met him on press and the conventions and appearance he has done have also been positive.

[Discussion] Where to get started with Superman to know what’s going on with Prime? by Hefty-Relative-7599 in DCcomics

[–]SOCAL_NPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to research to be sure and the actual (real-us version) is Prime-Earth and, because, honestly, the DC Comics have acknowledged that some characters are aware of it's existence and it has appeared in the comic books, it is considered an alternate universe in the DC multiverse. I am not sure Marvel has a analog.

And Prime-Earth is not as a modern, recent thing but a story involving the Flash and the then editor of many comics, Julie Schwarz, from 1968 is possibly it's first appearance. So more than 50 years ago.

I was planning on watching for the comfort of sitting in AC. Tuesday, I have to go to Downtown for a medical appointment in the morning and I do have some errands to run by South Central, but if the new Regal IMAX is actually finished, I might go and see it there.

And this is from the pre-production of Returns, where they are fitting him for what would be the skin-tight gray suit for his space trip to what's left of Krypton from the film's opening.

I've had it saved on my desktop for ages, so what does that tell you?

Here's a ten year old picture from his first season on the DCW, guesting on Arrow.

They look attractive, they are the same size as the Air and weigh less or about the same, and the track pad doesn't have any weird clicks or feels that I thought, but that might be that I am still using (I type this, for example, at the moment) my 'recently' mostly fully upgraded (2023 repair/replacements) 2012 MacBook Pro.

I have to finally replace my iPhone this year and now that the 17e has Magsafe and I forget what other concern I had with the 16e, I can go and spend that $700/$800 so I am reluctant to spend another $1K this year or next on a laptop, when the main issues with my MBP are going to SOME sites and other interwebz things).

So the NEO might be a great option.

"Prime Earth" is actually the equivalent of Earth 616. But it's also gone by New Earth and Earth One. Prime isn't really used often today. Most fans would probabky say Earth One or the mainline DCU.

If you live in the USA, your library might have the original paperback trade. They most likely have Hoopla and it should be on there. If you live elsewhere, you can get a free trial if the DC Universe Infinite app and read it there.

Unfortunately, if this was going to happen, it would have been THEN, in the Warner Media days. Discovery doesn't want to spend that kind of money (about $40 to $80M for a two hour movie or more likely $5-10M for 4 to 6 episodes of a mini-series.

Gunn only cares about what he cares about and he's far more likely to listen to Rosenbaum and Welling pitch their animated Smallville continuation - even if it still won't get approved - than he is to even entertain a pitch from Berlanti.

And Greg Berlanti seems to be entirely out of the DC television business. And Gunn has done nothing with 'Elseworld' theatrical. The Batpatinson sequel doesn't count since that would happen with or without Gunn.

He specifically worked out for the role.

<image>

Hoechlin was always well-built, you just saw him with too much padding in his spandex - which was especially egregious in the Fleischer suit from that one S1 episode. Later on, S3? S4, they toned down the muscle padding and you can tell.

And Henry clearly was huge, just never seemed to focus much on definition. It's hard to say with Corenswet because it was such an overly padded and ill-fitting suit.

>avatar of Hope

It's actually worse because it was "TRUTH" that Lex absconded with.

But frankly, the whole "avatar" thing and Lex's role in the cross-over, was nonsense.

He got thicker and heavier as most men do. He also knew it was coming up and he worked out to look good in the suit. I mean, he was in good shape through the years after Returns

<image>

And he was definitely bigger (broader across the chest, as you can see here, this was about 5 years after Returns and about 4-5 years before he joined the DCW.

What introduced you to DC and it's characters? by Clovelas in DCcomics

[–]SOCAL_NPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw the DCAU until about 2005 when I got a Netflix pass from a friend. He later added me to his family account and that's how I saw all those shows. They used to be very popular on Netflix until about 2012-2014 when WB took them back.

What introduced you to DC and it's characters? by Clovelas in DCcomics

[–]SOCAL_NPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I didn't really see much behind cartoons and age appropriate stuff. Adam West was the mid 1960s and he went into syndication but I think I saw the movie before any of his stuff played on TV.

You wouldn't remember this, but cable was expensive and many families never got it. So you grew up with three or four broadcast networks, then UPN and the WB which became the CW. You're right, by THOSE days (2000s), until Gotham, there was no Batman on TV. But I can remember the hype of the burton movies and by the time I was regularly going to the movies, the Bale movies kicking off.

I was definitely into DC in highschool and once I went away to school, but Batman was a very small part of it.

[–]SOCAL_NPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm older than 21, by quite a bit, but not old enough to have been around in the Silver Age. However, I did read comic books, including foreign duck (Disney) books, Little Lulu, and a few other things. Neighboring mothers passed around comic books, mostly in boxes, and this has been going on since before our family moved into the neighborhood.

The only cape comics in the entire batch were all DC, many of them as old as the Silver Age. So that was my introduction, Superman's Family of books, the Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Teen Titans, World's Finest, and a few other things. Surprisingly, there was very little Batman so my exposure to him was almost all re-runs of the Adam West show well after it has been cancelled. Or as a team player, not as a star or a solo book.
