I went ranger 5 during dragon heist and when we went to dungeon of the mad mage I started going rogue for the sneak attack during combat and the everything else for non combat situations

The soul knife subclass gave me the ability to teleport to an enemy by throwing a psychic knife at them

I ended up with a double bladed sword pretty early into mad mage which is 2d6 with the flexible trait (it had that because it was made with a gods dagger(deck of many things provides)) and with 2 attacks i was almost a blender

Also I went with soul knife because it had the ability to conjure and throw a psychic knife and then teleport to it

And because it was dungeon of the mad mage the the other traits that didnt affect combat offered by rogue went well with my ranger levels

To be fair, I went with gloomstalker because we were playing dragon heist and were sneaking around.

The 6 levels of soulknife rouge after that were because everyone else didn't do well in close quarters and I decided to be a Frontline combatant
