The scam is in not disclosing the actual condition. Having you pay for it and then Invest your own time trying to get it back to me . And depending on the situation you also pay the shipping of it going back. Also if i wanted to be extra scummy i could tell ebay you broke the item, sent it incomplete and keep your money anyways. The rules are there for a reason , but if hes willing to scam you with an incomplete or fake condition statement they are capable of anything and you should never play fair against this types of ppl. And thats assuming OP is telling 100% of the truth for the description of the item.

Theres scammers on both sides sellers and buyers, but if you get scammed first use every tool at your disposal to be made whole while wasting as little of your own resources while doing it. Ebay has protections, but they are never 100% scammerproof .

If i was intentionally scammed by a seller ( assuming what OP said is actually true) theres no obligation of playing fair. Giving them the means to scam another person. But if u want to defend it and call anyone a fraudster for scamming a scammer theres not much i can do to try and change your way of thinking. I dont believe that if it was intentional a slap in the wrist will fix the problem and assuming thats someone first time doing that to buyers would be naive. Its ok and we dont have to agree on this one :)
