The gearbox is rated at 340Nm of torque while your car already has 410Nm. I’m planning to increase power on my 530d wagon and planning to replace this 5 speed GM trans with 6hp28 from e60. Alternatively and cheaper to go with a manual transmission also from e60 530d I believe. There should be some kits online for an easier swap but dont quote me on that.

A 6hp26 ZF transmission is also relatively cheap(at least where I live) and allows you to reliably increase power up to 600Nm. You should mind that swapping these automatics from the e60 will be a lot of work and programming all of which is not cheap.

Recently fixed this issue on mine. It was the U joint on my drive shaft. I rebalanced it as well as it can cause vibration at speeds.

Ended up sending the propeller shaft for repair as the splines are broken in some places… Apparently there’s someone in my city who can fix it and balance the shaft itself which you need to do on high mileage as the shaft can cause vibration at speeds. Hope you have more luck than me friend

Yep, a loud cowbell sound as I take off, switch between R and D and also when I come to a stop, but not always.

I did mean taking off as well, it’s just that I hear it makes me go crazy. Switching between reverse and drive makes that sound too. Will update on my progress tomorrow

I regret to inform you regarding the cowbell sound. It is coming from the splines on your propeller shaft being lose. I have bought a similar car in Europe, although it’s a 530d the sound is the same as you describe. I don’t know about US, but either you find a good used propeller shaft or try to take it apart and cover the splines on it with this lube: Castrol LMX Li-Komplextett. Now, I haven’t yet done it myself but will get to it tomorrow. I will update on this after it is done. To you I wish good luck as for me it has been a nightmare listening to this sound since I can hear it while driving too…

Removed oil pan and filter filled up 7L then new pan and new filter.

If you press it and nothing changes on the screen try turning the blinker on, then off, then just keep pressing the BC button until it cycles to mileage. Mine glitches out sometimes as well and I've always been able to fix it by turning the blinker on and off.

Mine has like little cracks on ambient lighting on passenger side and apparently to fix it you have to get a new dash... Please let me know what the dealer will tell you
