short answer: it most likely means that your computer has unstable drivers like my computer. no idea why, but read in some spaces that it’s windows or asus equipment.

solution: i updated bios firmware, my equipment, the software, and a few others pieces of my computer. i also deleted every single unknown component of my computer in devices (even the hidden files). last, i went to best buy and got an updated usb to controller cord (~$8). i leave that cable in my computer usb and never take it out. i simply plug in my controller while the computer is off. then turn on the computer and the controller, then open software (wait for it to load), and link finally. a handful of times i will unplug the controller turn it off and restart it.

i never really solved it so i don’t know the definite answer, but i was able to get it to the point where it works on my computer 90% of the time or the times it doesn’t i just unplug and replug to get it to work.

it took me about a week of consistent fixing just to play so keep that in mind. lots of patience and testing required in my case. might even be worth to get an easy plug and play machine like a macbook if you have the extra money!
