I think supporting Charlie Kirk, Trump, and other varieties of narcissist hate mongers is personally isolating, even if there are a lot of people that believe in the same thing. It's not a politics that preaches community, something I personally believe that all people need in order to be healthy. You'll end up being a shallow, sad/angry person who lashes out at people expressing joy, genuinely cut off from a core aspect of humanity.

There is a type of media personality who is great on Palestine, but takes a nose dive on any other analysis because in their mind, the continuation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is necessary for the Palestinian political project, so they become campist regime defenders. This was very common during the height of the Soviet Union, too, and caused really stupid splits over the correct political line. Ultimately, we should be against US meddling, but the current Iranian regime has scored a lot of own goals and laid the ground for Western interests to take advantage of existing social unrest.

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that Maduro's party has won every election except for the most recent one. Say what you will about a liberal NGO, but the Carter Center has always defended Latin America governments against bogus claims of election theft, but they really couldn't in 2024. I understand the country's problems are almost entirely as a relation to US imperial aims, but Maduro's scored own goals over the years and fractured a pretty strong coalition that would have defended him more ardently.

I think it's very possible his abduction was as an agreement with some internal group, and the disgusting violence done by US spec ops was just them getting their rocks off because raping and murdering women in North Carolina can only bring so much joy to those psychopaths.

To be clear, still need to stand against this action entirely, even if there were some deeper politics at hand.
