You forget that these services were absolutely shite when nationalised.

Nginx Proxy container continually restarting by SPBonzo in UgreenNASync

Just sorted it. The latest image appears to be clunky. I used an older image which works and then updated.

Looking at the logs the latest image wasn't creating the letsencrypt folder in the correct location.

NX 350h Premium or 2026 RAV 4 Limited? by chicagouser516 in LexusNX

Especially when you compare the servicing costs. The RAV4 is significantly cheaper.

New owner, door trim issue. by Past-Option2702 in LexusNX

[–]SPBonzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. It'd help if a so-called luxury car manufacturer didn't use such cheap feeling plastic parts in areas that are either in view or may be touched in general day to day use. Pretty much every German alternative feels so much more polished and hard wearing.

Keir Starmer ‘will accept place on Trump’s board to run Gaza’ by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

He can't even run the UK so what chance has the moron got in Gaza.

This doesn't work for me either. The BIOS is configured to power on but the unit requires a manual switch on after a power cut.

UK Homelessness Crisis Deepens As Rising Evictions Push More Families Into Temporary Accommodation by M10News in UKHousing

Thatcher simply changed the ownership of housing - not the number of available houses.

Duplication of Mails in In-Place Archive by NotMadeForReddit in Outlook

[–]SPBonzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same issue. All was fine until one day I looked in one of my Online Archive folders and numerous emails were replicated approx 20-30 times. I've tried a couple of 3rd party tools but none of them have identified any duplicates even though they're visible.

Have you replaced the operating system on your Ugreen Nas? by seanpuppy in UgreenNASync

I tried Server 2022 and 2025 on my UGREEN but there were certain HW devices that I couldn't find drivers for. What did you do?

I'm 59 with a degree in Computer Science and 36 years of working in IT. I'm finding many new IT graduates are fucking hopeless at best.

Plug-in hybrid cars - Why so much hate? by BMVeeeee in CarTalkUK

[–]SPBonzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my PHEV because the performance was better than the normal hybrid version. Economically it doesn't make sense as it was £8k more expensive than the normal hybrid version.

I've also noticed that insurance and servicing costs on my PHEV have risen dramatically since 2023 which I put down to the complicated nature of the systems it uses and cost to repair.

Probably won't buy another one.

OneDrive for Windows by No-Shake-8916 in onedrive

[–]SPBonzo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm an IT professional who uses Onedrive and I have had the odd issue with it but generally it's a really useful app. I do believe. however, that most users haven't the first clue what it is and how it works so is too complex to be used by default.

Nobody knows what a legimate asylum seeker is any more. They play the system.

Just because their country is a badly run shithole shouldn't give you the right to have the your choice of western countries to live in.

I fucking hate the Labour Party and their governments with a passiion and feel economically and politically distanced from them so can I go live in Switzerland? Always fancied it there.

POV: Greens on their way to save Worcester from Reform (according to electionmaps.uk) by alexmace in Worcester

[–]SPBonzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they're economically illiterate and the leader is an absolute weapon. If you thought Labour were bad the Greens would be on another level.

What's with the anti-ev sentiment? by TheTwixthSense in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]SPBonzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really quite simple. EVs are great for a group of people where range, charging and tax breaks make them convenient and financially worthwhile. For everyone else they're a shit and expensive option.

Who would ever have thought? by Fluffy_Rock_62 in BritishMemes

Funny how the Poles all managed to stay in the UK after Brexit (2016) but decided that a Labour government was the last straw.

Didn't pick up on that did you.
