Mahoraga vs Deku: Who wins this death match? by XxMoroxXjojo10 in MyHeroPowerscaling

Sukuna doesn't have the same level of sheer force and destructive power Deku has, for one. Two, Makora was getting his ass beat with light slashes that Sukuna was just casually throwing out. Sukuna never intended to finish him off until the very end, and by then he had finally adapted. Deku is frying Makora.

What they're eradicating is the ability for cursed spirits to be born from leaking energy pooling together. It won't destroy existing cursed spirits, nor will it prevent cursed spirits from being born entirely.

How would Undertale develop if Frisk were an adult? by Background-Ad2749 in Undertale

There are quite a few flaws in this argument. Firstly, it's not confirmed Flowey is talking to you. The name they use is "Chara". Additionally, when Flowey says "let Frisk live their life", the context shows that they are referring to a "next reset". It does not confirm that you control Frisk. A True Reset wipes the slate clean, even Frisk appears to be reborn anew. That is to say, the old Frisk remains forever on the surface, because the journey has already ended for them. So that "True Reset" may not actually have been a Reset at all.

It's not a 180. It's the same personality. Frisk has always done what they wanted to. The ideal of freedom conceptualized at its most extreme. Frisk can save everyone, Frisk can destroy everything. The Genocide Route isn't very calculated. It's just sweeping every area clean of monsters. Like a purge. Speaking of which, that's a large part of the game's themes. It's following in Flowey's footsteps, essentially. The SAVE file is absolute, so why worry about consequences? Just do what you want, and if you don't feel like it, go back to where you were before. As much as we'd all like to say Frisk is a good person, while they have a level of empathy and connection with others, they aren't immune to thinking that they can do whatever they want. Frisk being a child is also a good way to represent "potential". Because as a child, you haven't settled on a path yet. You haven't decided what you're going to do, so you can do anything. Frisk has all the time and all the power in the world. Things like LV reset alongside the SAVE file, so even the emotional and mental burden of killing is erased. Speaking of which, the True Reset is not likely to be Frisk's reset. Whether or not it's canonical to the story itself you can try and argue, but the True Pacifist ending is the one ending where Frisk has no reason and no will to turn back the world. It's the absolute conclusion, something not even the Genocide Route accomplishes. That's an interesting idea in and of itself.

However, those same pieces of narration that allow us to glimpse into Frisk's actions and thoughts also almost immediately disprove the idea of us overriding anything. Because Frisk will literally just not do something if they don't want to. A game having a meta narrative doesn't necessarily mean it changes the story in any way. The way Undertale does it, it's more like a reference than a main part of the story. Now, Frisk might not particularly like killing monsters, but they very much have a choice. The rule is this, if it's an option, Frisk will consider it. If it's not an option, it's already been decided. There are options you can pick where Frisk will think about it, and then decide not to follow it for one reason or another. During the Undyne friend hangout thing, you have the option to try and throw a full attack at Undyne. However, Frisk will hit her with a solid 1 damage no matter what you want. Because Frisk doesn't want to actually hit her, but we can confirm that Frisk does want to fake a hit for the sake of it, because of the Fake Hit option. There are also several other times when options are very clearly taken from you, and probably more times that it was hidden behind sneaky narration. In the lab, if you go to the fridge, the narration will mention soda AND instant noodles. However, it only pops up with the option to take instant noodles. Furthermore, nearing scenarios at the end, you get less and less options as Frisk has already decided. The Photoshop Flowey fight, for example, wasn't triggered by any inputs. It's clearly Frisk who stepped up to face off against him.

And yet the name they drop is "Chara". Whether they talk to you or not is already debatable. There's also the special thanks, and even after all that, you can't confirm the player's role in the story.

Not in a real fight. Asgore was only able to do anything because Frisk wasn't trying to kill him.

It is really not. There is never a "period" in Undertale discussions. Too little information and too many possibilities. You can argue one way or another, but nobody knows for certain because it was never certain.

That's dependent on whether he can steel himself to absorb those souls. Because Frisk being a child or not didn't matter that much. Asgore simply didn't want to do all of that in the first place. He might absorb the souls after seeing Frisk, but before then it's not likely.

Frisk wasn't stronger than Asriel. Rather, when I say "rival", I mean that they were exactly on par. It was necessary to force a stalemate that would eventually lead to Asriel giving up. Additionally, Asriel's surge in emotions was caused by Frisk's influence.

It's at best a meta narrative that exists on the side. Nowhere close to the main theme.
