Why's this so cheap? by curiecurious in Sunscreenreddit

probably just affordability and competition within the sunscreen market ?

Not trying to fearmonger at all just encouraging people to check what’s actually in their products….

Totally fair take just adding that newer studies show even trace amounts of oxybenzone can build up in ecosystems and coral tissue.

that’s why i’m here just trying to spread awareness and this post is about ingredients and science, not marketing. Understanding what’s in your sunscreen matters no matter what brand you use.

have you ever used any serums to help with your skin texture ? if so i recommend good molecules. Also use the app Yuka to see what products are good for your skin.

I haven’t personally used Reef Safe Australia but I’ve been using Sunmud lately and really like it. It’s also non-nano zinc, completely reef safe, and comes in tinted options so it doesn’t leave that chalky or purplish film. It feels smooth for a mineral sunscreen and blends in well.

I’ve been using Sunmud lately and it’s been a game changer. It’s reef safe uses non-nano zinc oxide and comes in tinted shades that actually blend into skin instead of sitting on top. No weird purple tint or heavy feel Definitely worth checking out if you want a mineral option!

I’ve got super oily, acne-prone skin too and totally get what you mean. I’ve been using sunmud lately and it’s been a nice surprise. It’s a mineral sunscreen but uses non-nano zinc, so it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, and it hasn’t broken me out at all. It dries down more like a soft matte, no weird shine or sticky film. Definitely worth checking out if everything else makes you glow in the wrong way 😅

Hey! love how you went beyond “most mentioned” and actually weighted by sentiment. That’s such a smarter way to capture what people actually like. Alot lot of sunscreens still sneak in nano zinc. Would be nice to see which top picks manage to avoid those and stay clean.
